The image of a social phobia is known - it is Perelman, an unshaven "bookworm" who looks like a fish pulled out of water outside his home office with his computer always on. At any party, he wildly looks around and looks for an excuse to get away as soon as possible. All creative people are more or less affected by social phobia, but more often gambling addicts, programmers, writers and other lovers of creative solitude, and this is normal. So far, it does not touch on everyday problems. For example, how to marry a social phobia? Or work. After all, for a social phobia to call a stranger is an execution. He will think, smoke and in every possible way delay the moment until he finally gets out of patience with his boss.

How I save people from the problem of the loss of social connections can be clearly seen on the example of one of such cases. One guy came to me for treatment from the northern capital. Irresistible fear of cold calling. I resorted to the help of antidepressants, Ericksonian hypnosis, psychotherapy - it did not help. I conducted four sessions of hypnotherapy (3 hours each) and the problem went away, in his words, “by 85-90 percent”. (The assessment is normal - it always happens: "I stopped drinking, but the habit of staggering remained"). It turned out that the whole point was that he was hindered by … shame

Imagine that you had a corresponding psychotrauma in your distant childhood. Such things leave behind an incorrectly recorded emotion that does not bother you in any way until a familiar combination of psychophysical circumstances has developed. You find them at the level of the autonomic nervous system: first you start to sweat, tremble, then an explosion of shame (grief, joy, fear, resentment) follows, which squeezes your throat. Intellectually, you understand that there are no reasons for this, but you cannot help yourself.

The mechanism of the "hell machine" is triggered, because the shock experienced incorrectly was written into the structure of your personality as an element of a defensive reaction. Indeed, on that day, you were overwhelmed by a feeling of shame (grief, joy, fear, resentment), which in the end turned out to be salutary, and an obliging instinct recorded an emotional prominence as a means of survival in specific conditions. Since then, as soon as a familiar situation developed, your subconscious mind diligently and industriously removes your "shield": you start to sweat, tremble, dull, etc. The task of the hypnotherapist is to replace the inadequate reaction, and for this it is necessary that you once again experience everything that happened, but only without distortions. There is no other way to "reflash" your personality.

Together with a guy who was afraid of telephones, we traveled in his memory until we found that unfortunate incident. Trance is an altered state of consciousness that allows you to live in any episode from the film called "my life", instilling in the image of who you were 10 or 50 years ago. My patient, thanks to the trance, entered the same water for the second time in order to come out of it as a different person. After that, somewhere in the depths of his soul, he stopped considering the state of resentment convenient and beneficial (everyone calms you down, they say good words) and the tantrums stopped. As far as I know, things have gone uphill for him.

Is it possible to do without the services of a hypnotherapist? Sure! If anything, I have seen successful examples of self-medication. Its quintessence is its reliance on common sense. You are not crazy and you can be critical of yourself. Therefore, look for situations that allow you to relive the fateful episode. For example, this is accomplished by "speaking" when you talk over and over again with varying levels of detail about that fateful event. Along with the words, an evil emotion comes out of you. If you “speak out” for a long time, then at one fine moment you simply will not remember what you were talking about. It is painful, long and difficult, but we talk about self-medication when it is "cheap and cheerful."The main thing, I repeat, is to exclude a diagnosis like "ICD-10 F60.2." (psychopathy), which is treated only by a psychiatrist.
