In the previous article, I gave a recommendation that you should include professional achievements in your resume. Many people often think about this particular question, ponder what to write, from which area to take examples, whether it is necessary to list everything or 1-2 examples are enough, etc.

I propose to solve the issue in a simple way available to everyone. Nowadays, an exercise called the "Wheel of Life Balance" is very popular, it is really universal and I suggest you adapt it to our task.

So, take a piece of paper, a pen and draw a circle. We divide it into 6-10 equal parts (or into as many parts as you like). We sign each area of the circle, for example, as in my drawing. These are the areas of activity in which your achievements can be found.

Now, in each area, we prescribe our specific # achievements. For example, EFFICIENCY - your effective actions that led to the planned result.

“I suggested analyzing the ROI indicator to get data on the effectiveness of investments in training sales managers. The results of the data showed a direct relationship between the increase in sales with new skills acquired during training"

ECONOMY - as a result of your work, the company saved the budget and received financial benefits.

"Found new suppliers of such and such services or equipment, with lower prices, but without losing product quality, entered into a contract, and the company saved 30% of its usual budget for these costs"

PROFIT - the team of the department, as a result of your innovations, has increased the sales volume in comparison with the previous months.

“I analyzed the system of motivation for sales managers for the last 3 years, approved a new system of motivation for the CEO, implemented it, and as a result, the volume of revenue was increased by 40% in the first month after the introduction of innovations, then by 30% every month”

Next, I will simply list the possible areas of your accomplishment. This list can be endless, because there are many professions, we are all unique and each of us always has our own victories in work.

LEADERSHIP - in a difficult situation, you took responsibility for the decision you made while working on the project, brought the work to the result.

INNOVATION - you have proposed a new work scheme, as a result of which labor productivity increased while reducing time costs.

COMMUNICATION - your skills in negotiating with difficult people, with colleagues of different positions, with leaders of different levels of government, etc.

WORK WITH CUSTOMERS - your unique opportunities to understand the needs of the client, explain the specifics of working with your product by phone, show restraint in a conversation with a conflicting client, etc.

Complete the circle of your achievements. Look at this impressive list, you have a lot to be proud of!

Pick 1-2 of the most significant accomplishments from each area and write on your resume. These are your real successes, you need to talk about them!

You can further work with your Circle of Achievements in the future as follows:

- pay attention to which areas there are more achievements and which ones are less. You may be able to better understand your strengths and weaknesses in your profession or career.

- mark the areas in which you would like to get more achievements. Write down three simple steps how you can achieve this. Take this plan to work and execute it.

- plan your success in an area where you have not yet received the result, this will be your development zone.

If you have any questions - write or call.

I wish you all the best!
