I would like to share an exercise from my piggy bank of experience working with groups. It can be used with or without cards. Alternatively, I offer these questions as a self-study, as homework.
For this work, the most suitable and effective decks that I have, in my opinion, are "ON" decks without using cards with words and "Dixit". You can use those that you have, preferably without text on the pictures, so as not to distract clients from thinking about the task.
We write questions for the exercise on the board, so it will be more convenient to work with the task. You can use all question options or selectively.
The first part of the assignment, participants are asked to choose cards according to the number of questions. Cards are chosen face-down, and they should be opened one at a time. The task can be performed in a circle, the first card is the first question, and so on, if there are many participants, then in pairs or triplets, mini groups.
We ask questions about the cards, what is this picture for you, what do you see, what feelings you experience when looking at the picture, how it relates to the question asked.
Exercise question options:
1. If it's over, what will be left? If you discard the outer tinsel, what remains inside?
2. Who or what is the time to say goodbye to? What ideas, hopes, illusions, people, things is it time to say goodbye to forever?
3. Take a look at the Shadow. What is hiding in it? What power do you have and do not use it? What are you holding back? What manifestations are you avoiding? What do you envy of others?
4. Fog in which it is difficult to move? Something dark, unexplored and unknown. What worries. What will help to move in the fog, how can this be done, with the help of what?
5. The ghost of the past comes to visit. What worries you from the past, why has it become relevant again today? It's time to deal with him! What can help you with this?
6. What I have inside that you can rely on. What is your strength? What ideas, qualities, opportunities can be useful to you?
7. Resources. What you have, what you can ask for from others. Where do you lose, how do you restore your resources?
8. The door with the sign "Exit" How do you know you found it? Where will you go next?
As a rule, such work in a group of 8 participants takes 2-2.5 hours if all questions are considered. Usually the meeting is lively and interesting, many insights and clues can be found in this study.
Get creative with this type of work, supplement, modify at your discretion. I use it as a template, according to the current topic in the group, change the questions and another exercise comes out. Use it to your health!
I would be glad to receive your responses and wishes.
