Excitement is a rather contradictory emotion, which is more or less characteristic of everyone. Excitement can be creative, professional, sports, educational, hunting, love, play, etc.
You cannot do without passion neither in professional development, nor in business, nor in love. Almost any business in which a person pursues some kind of goal is somehow connected with passion. To live, work, create, balancing between crisis and frequently changing circumstances, overcoming fear and obstacles is possible only with the help of deliberate risk, passion and optimism.
The degree of a person's gambling depends on social factors, characteristics of a person's character and temperament. People are fond of various processes in different ways. One - it is enough to look at the object to ignite it, the other - it takes several days.
Money and passion are close by. Although in fact, they do not have a direct relationship to each other. Thrill constitute the psychological essence of passion.
There are no victories in sports or business without passion. Because passion is a persistent desire and desire to win.
Is sport possible without passion? Professional - no, amateur - yes. Almost the same in everything else - either a gambling professional or an amateur.
A person who is gambling in his business is almost always purposeful, initiative, persistent.
On the one hand, passion is a driving force for purposeful people. On the other hand, this is a very strong emotion, and in those frequent cases when it happens that it is not we who control the passion, but it controls us, this emotion becomes dangerous.
Uncontrolled excitement can bring a person many problems: rash, impulsive actions and deeds, risky financial transactions, various bets, gambling - this is not a complete list of the possible consequences of uncontrolled excitement. Uncontrolled excitement also reduces risk sensitivity and self-preservation instinct.
Therefore, the manifestation of such an emotion as excitement can and should be controlled. Control is not a prohibition or suppression of an emotion in general, but an orientation towards regulating and controlling this emotion.
Most often, the excitement appears after you have won, when the business has brought: either success / fame, or recognition, or money.
If the business does not bring either success, or recognition, or a financial component, the excitement gradually goes away.
Unfortunately, this does not apply to players (gambling addicts). In the psychology of gambling, there are similar components of any excitement: bright, strong emotions and a competitive effect. But psychiatrists believe that gambling is akin to an irresistible craving for alcohol or drugs. After all, if the player does not have money to continue the game, then this may well turn into one of the mental disorders (depression, for example). The main reason for such a frustration will not be the loss itself, but the impossibility of continuing the game - this once again proves that passion and money are not always interconnected.
In the fight against gambling addiction, a lot depends both on the professionalism of a specialist (psychologist, psychotherapist) and on the gambling addict himself - his desire to get rid of addiction, his motivation.
