And dreams were given to man …

Dream theory is a mysterious area. Scientists are still researching our brain and what happens to it during sleep, and what our dreams reflect and why we see them.

According to the theory of psychiatrist Carl Gustav Jung, dreams are messages that our unconscious is trying to convey to us

No matter how contradictory and strange the ancient Greeks may seem to us, for them the possibility of sleep, and if a dream is with dreams, then this is a special gift from above. Any content of a dream, even the smallest, was recorded in detail, compared with actual life, and interpreted in a prophetic manner. Taking into account dreams, they made the most significant decisions in life: a military campaign, a wedding, the birth of children.

And the ritual of the god of healing Asclepius? The seriously ill were brought to a stone sanctuary, somewhat reminiscent of a crypt. In this place they were supposed to spend the night, and in the morning tell in detail about what they saw in the dream to the doctors. Then medical dreams were conventionally interpreted, and according to them, individual recipes were developed.

With the development of science, in which grounded knowledge is considered to be reality, dreams, due to their inconsistency, were openly devalued for some time, or they were classified as mysterious, mysterious things.

Dreams from the point of view of psychology were first studied by Freud, the founder of psychoanalysis. He gave a scientific basis for the nature of sleep, comparing dreams with obsessions, phobias, various personality disorders. As a result, he established causality between mental processes and the presence of dreams at the unconscious level.

The main function of sleep is to create some kind of compensation, to restore our mental balance. We dream exactly what requires adjustment of our mental balance

“People who think unrealistic, have overestimated self-esteem, or plan grandiose projects without relying on real opportunities, dream of flying or falling. Such dreams compensate for the inferiority of their personality, while warning about the dangers of following such a practice."

Our unconscious sees much more than the conscious

It calculates the prospects for steps or events already taken. It shows us feelings hidden in the shadows that we are afraid to admit to ourselves or others.

You have to understand that there is no magic here.

Many crises in our life have a long unconscious background. We are approaching them step by step. But what we miss in the conscious part is often perceived by our subconscious, which can convey information to us through dreams.

Yes, the subconscious mind sends us some images in dreams, but how can we solve them? How can we learn to understand what it tells us? Can we on our own, without resorting to dream books and specialists, learn to explain our dreams and benefit from it?

The first thing is to understand and conclude that common symbols do not exist, specifically for you - they will appear for you, no one except yourself will tell you exactly what this or that symbol means in a dream.

Second, remember the dreams that have evoked emotions in you, or those that recur. Write them down - what details you remember, what impressed you - it can be anything - a certain situation, color, person, objects.

Then watch what happens in real conscious life. So you will have your own dream book.

Third, when you begin to understand the symbols, and what they mean to you - look in what ways these symbols came in dreams.

Usually these are clues that "I do not see or do not try to see"

And when you figured out what kind of relationship they are in, ask yourself: “What can I change in my daytime life? Perhaps I should take a closer look at some part and already protect myself in something? Or maybe I should already realize some of my plans or, on the contrary, double-check them."

The psyche of any of us is hard to adapt to stress, and especially to negative, and in every possible way will strive to release it. Sleep is an ideal option for this: the person seems to be doing nothing himself, and his acute problem has been solved.

Dreaming is not a work of fantasy, it is a response to actual problems and experiences. And if you treat them with a grain of attention and seriousness, then sometimes dreams reveal conflicts and problems that we do not realize.
