A person thinks about what to turn to a psychologist or psychotherapist when some situations, experiences arise in his life, internal states with which he cannot cope on his own.
That is, when we see, understand, realize the true reasons for the current situation - we can change it on our own, if we cannot change it, therefore there is something that we do not see, do not realize, do not accept in ourselves, which we cannot influence realized. This is something in our subconscious. This is where the help of a specialist psychologist and psychotherapist is needed. Their task is to correctly create the conditions for the client under which he can see in himself those things that are closed in the subconscious that cannot be seen on their own due to the protective mechanisms of the psyche.
Then it is important not only to see this in yourself, but also to accept those repressed states and experiences, from which, for some reason, you had to close and defend yourself, learn to live with them … a person who is capable in the future to independently cope with their problems.) And here there must be a specialist nearby.
These processes of acquaintance with oneself and acceptance of oneself occur very gradually, step by step … This is not a simple enough, I would say a very delicate and fragile process, the quality of which depends precisely on those conditions, on the atmosphere created by a psychologist or psychotherapist. By the atmosphere created, I mean the correct, appropriate and timely use of the experience, knowledge and abilities of a specialist, such as, for example, the ability to contain negative emotions expressed by the client, empathy, various techniques that allow you to meet your own fears and experiences, joint search for a resource, the ability to follow outside, mirroring and everything that was said above - unconditional acceptance, support …. you can also add coffee, cookies, napkins here … in general, everything that will help you to open up and get to know yourself, the real one:) Actually, the specialist gets paid for this.

Manipulation can be defined as "arbitrarily influencing or controlling other people in order to gain benefits through persuasion, deception, seduction, coercion, induction or guilt." This term is almost always used to describe the client's attempts to control the relationship;
Intervention Focuses And Therapist's Pitfalls In Working With An Addicted Client
In this text, I propose to consider addict therapy primarily as a strategic work with a character structure that defines a specific format for the therapeutic relationship. It is no secret that the most important methodological toolkit of the Gestalt approach is to support the process of awareness.
He Owes His Mom So Much That He Pays And Pays Everything
His mother is always tired and unhappy. She lives only for her son, so that he would have this and that, and, most importantly, almost like people. She even tolerates her father, who spoils her life. The father either does not earn, or drinks, or is absent.
The Role Of The Therapist In The Client's Life
Any professional psychologist / psychotherapist periodically asks himself a question about the effectiveness of his activities, and how he can really help his client. Indeed, without an answer to this question (at least for oneself), sometimes it is literally impossible to work - to find a client, to conduct meaningful therapy, to feel satisfaction from the profession, and most importantly - to actually provide assistance to the person who applied for it.
Does The Therapist Need A Concept Of The Client's Personality?
The client's symptoms are those "fences" behind which it is necessary to look in order to understand what is hidden behind them. Does the therapist need a concept of the client's personality? Despite my love for phenomenology, my basic scientific deterministic worldview requires a search for the causes of the phenomena observed in therapy, and the systems approach I profess in therapy is aimed at understanding their meaning.
