Despite the obviousness that the training and development of a certain skill or skill (as well as their sum in the form of a certain competence) leads to progress and growth of skill in a particular area (sports, creativity, martial arts, intellectual activities), the vast majority of people are nothing does not do in order to develop his ability to live.
Actually, the ability to live or personal growth can be defined as the ability to most effectively and optimally solve problems (or tasks) that arise in front of a person and achieve the goals that he really wants, and not those that are imposed on him by his parents, social environment or cultural paradigm … This is the essence of life Mastery.
It would seem that any normal person should organically strive for this. After all, it is better to live well, freely and comfortably than to live in fears, stresses and worries from constant mistakes and failures.
But, nevertheless, people do not strive for real personal growth.
Why?
The reason for this is the presence of illusions, ignorance, psychological defenses, certain attitudes and beliefs that prevent a person from overcoming the "current version of himself" and becoming better than he was before.
I have identified 19 barriers that prevent a person from embarking on the path of personal growth.
#1. "I'm fine" (an illusion caused by self-deception)
#2. "I don't need this" (rejection due to the lack of a real idea of the nature of personal growth ")
#3. "What are you, got into a sect?" (slavish fear of social condemnation of the environment)
#4. "This is entertainment for idlers" (a myth generated by one's own ignorance and unwillingness to understand the topic)
#5. Passion for schizotericism, denial of one's own causality and voluntary adherence to various kinds of schiza from the lectures of the corresponding "gurus" and literature ("I will do good practices / deeds and a miracle will happen to me")
#6. Denial of the influence of the attitudes of the unconscious on what is happening in life ("it just happened", "just a black streak in life")
#7. Erotic fantasies about their own competence in what personal growth is ("why? I'm the smartest, I already know everything")
#8. Illusion "here I read a book, then I will understand everything"
#9. Games of the mind - excessive activity of the 2nd signal system leads to the fact that a person blocks the ability to consciously contact with their experiences, personal growth is replaced by "mental masturbation"
#10. Pessimism "nothing will help me anymore"
#11. Negative experiences from attending charlatan events
#12. "Magic Pill" (lack of readiness for methodical serious work that requires certain loads and does not guarantee "quick happiness")
#13. Unwillingness to part with the current identity, the current version of yourself (irrational unconscious fear of the very thought that you can become completely different)
#14. Fear of admitting my own weakness "I can handle everything myself, you can't show that something is wrong with me"
#15. Lack of recognition of one's own worth ("I don't have time for all sorts of crap," that is, my own life is not recognized as a priority)
#16. Fatalism - "yes, now everything is not so good, but nothing, everything will pass, just now there is a black streak"
#17. Lack of self-sufficiency, the expectation that “someone will solve all my problems for me”, the hope that new information, new knowledge, new ideas will in themselves provide an internal transformation and automatic transfer to the “kingdom of the spirit”
#18. The attitudes of a loser in life. The unconscious, which controls 95-99% of actions (decisions, thoughts, choices), seeks to lead the loser to even greater life failures in order to confirm the correctness of these attitudes. Since personal growth leads to success and luck, the unconscious of a loser does everything to prevent him from doing it.
#nineteen. The most important barrier. A deep unconscious fear of taking responsibility for the decisions and choices you make, the fear of taking responsibility for your own life. Actually, overcoming this barrier is the essence of personal growth in the early stages.
What if you find yourself in one or more of these barriers and even take the liberty of admitting the fact of their presence? How to overcome them?
Only through the process of awareness. Awareness of their real causes and getting rid of them by increasing their degree of adequacy and degree of causality in relation to their own emotional reactions. You can learn this within the framework Schools [of system development].
I wish you success on the path of your own growing up!
