From the time of the emergence of philosophical thought in ancient times and up to the present time, great human minds have been busy searching for truth. One of the main philosophical questions was and remains: "What does it mean to KNOW?"
And also related to him: "What is the truth?" and "How to Get True Knowledge?" In any case, the focus on truth was and for the most part remains dominant not only in philosophy and science, but also in public consciousness
Does truth exist? I personally think that for the last fifty years we have been attending her commemoration. And we cannot let go, and state it as possible, too. And if it exists, is it really necessary for the life and development of an individual and humanity as a whole?
At the beginning of the last century, E. Husserl took a step that called into question the very need to search for truth. Phenomenology, it seems to me, is especially valuable for this position - consciousness was opposed to knowledge. And starting with the Ideas of Pure Phenomenology, the category of truth in the form we are accustomed to has decisively receded far into the background. The emergence of philosophical thought, characteristic of the postmodern era, completely introduced a tendency towards the search for truth in coma. The main achievements of modern physics, for example, quantum, are interpretive. Truth is out of the question. And that's not bad at all. Refusal to search for truth, in my opinion, significantly intensifies creativity.
Nevertheless, to this day, the compulsive desire to discover the truth determines for some reason our behavior. From anxiety and dissatisfaction, I suppose.
They say that the truth is born in a dispute. Therefore, it is this method of communication that turns out to be the most popular for lovers of truth. Is it really so important to know who is right ?! In modern fields of knowledge about a person, in particular in psychotherapy, it seems to me that the question of who is right is meaningless. My views on psychotherapy and the psychotherapeutic process are not a problem of truth, but of attitude. This is another factor that makes me, as a psychotherapist, a person of art. So my psychotherapeutic views are a matter of my professional responsibility. I do not see a subject for dispute here. There is nothing to argue about.
But then there is a subject for dialogue. Dialogue differs from argument in that we don't need to find the truth. We just need to convey our position and have the wisdom to listen to the position of the Other. Moreover, in this case, there is much more space in contact for inspiration and innovation. In a dispute, most often its participants are interested in promoting and defending their position. At the same time, the focus of the discussion is often not the essence of the opponent's position, but vulnerabilities that are insignificant for it. It turns out a kind of game - who is smarter. The dialogue, based on the statement of positions, allows, without threatening the self-esteem of its participants, to grasp the essence of the relevant theses.

Silence Of The Psychoanalyst. The Truth And Lies Of Neutrality
Those who know what it is - the silence of the therapist in the office - surely have ideas why this is so.
