Excessive dreams of great victories and ignoring small steps can harm and even stop our path to the dream.

When you dream of achieving a significant, meaningful goal immediately, - it seems very difficult and impossible;

- tasks - so difficult that they paralyze you;

- the pleasure of completion is so far away that motivation never comes;

- the investments are so huge that the whole idea seems stupid and hopeless.

Therefore, I really appreciate the power of small steps. They lead to good results and give immediate feedback - we learn to understand how important what we do is to us

Better to take one step instead of being upset about why you can't take a hundred thousand steps.

Better to write one page than imagine millions reading your seven hundred pages that don't exist.

It is better to publish your post, your book and be ridiculed, unpleasant, unnoticed, and then another post - and get a like, than fantasizing about how crowds of fans are queuing up for your autograph.

Better to do something that you want than to make excuses for lack of money, connections and old age.

You can ponder for a long time about how we will suddenly become successful - and stay where we are.

Think a lot, but do something. Dream big, but don't wait for the perfect plan to reach your goal - act now. Only action matters. And only action will show you what you are capable of and what you should give up.

Of course, ambition and planning are very important. But I also believe that success more often comes through a series of subtle small steps than through a lot of concern about building the best strategy possible.

The single step strategy is good when you don't budge in any way. When it seems to you that your train left long ago without you. Either you are late everywhere - everything has already been done without us … Or you are looking for and cannot find the meaning of your existence. Or maybe you are confused in your desires and do not know which one to choose.

Four years ago, with a zero level, I was going to learn a brisk conversational English in three months. Yes Easy! I'm in America! Well I got into a conversational environment! It all ended with the fact that in a year I advanced to screaming a single phrase: “I don’t speak English yet”. After such "success" I stopped dreaming about great things. I took up the alphabet, started my own dictionary - it’s very good that I didn’t yet have a translator on my phone, got books with exercises for five-year-olds, registered on several sensible sites, enrolled in conversation groups in ten Massachusetts libraries, listened attentively to American news, squeezed out from your larynx, phrases wherever possible. I listened, read, wrote, spoke. In the car I talked with the notes of the lessons. Every single day. Little by little. In parallel, dealing with twelve tenses, prepositions, irregular verbs and pronunciation. Now, very confidently, without a dictionary, I read books for second grade children of an American school. Don't laugh, this is a significant victory for me. I also read serious books, but not so smartly. It is still a long way from speaking at TED conferences, but keeping the conversation on a household level is quite.

I meet people who in four years have achieved more significant successes than me. Everyone has their own path and their own abilities. In my experience something else is valuable. If I hadn't given up on the idea of learning a language in 90 days, I would still say the same thing: “I don’t speak English yet”.

The power of small victories and modest steps clarifies the next steps to take, reduces doubts, removes uncertainty, and reduces difficulties.

Do you dream of landscaping and hundreds of clients? Break the flower bed under your windows for a start.

Want to take a trip around the world? Plan an excursion to places nearby you haven’t been before.

Seeing yourself as the owner of a trendy organic food store? Get a sales manager at a grocery company and try to sell something.

Having received a dentist diploma, can you imagine how the whole city comes to you to screw implants? How about an internship with an experienced professional?

Don't you remember your desires at all? Is this not due to the fact that you wanted to get them in one moment, but this does not happen? By the way, this is why most people fail with their goals. People live, they think about how much time they will spend on achieving them - and they do nothing to get even closer to the little tables, even two meters. They think a year, ten, twenty … Sic transit gloria mundi, in our opinion - This is how the glory of the world passes.

Excessive dreams of great victories and ignoring small steps can harm and even stop your path to your dream.

When you think of a significant, meaningful achievement immediately, - purpose seems very difficult and impossible;

- tasks - so heavy that they paralyze you;

- pleasure so far from completion that motivation never comes;

- investments - so huge that the whole idea seems silly and hopeless.

Therefore, I really appreciate the power of small steps. They lead to good results and give immediate feedback - we learn to understand how important what we do is to us.
