At the moment of birth, the child's body begins to function independently, all physical and chemical processes that cause real physical pain are triggered. The first breath of air that fills the lungs, the release of excess fluid from the throat causes severe discomfort, and the child begins to cry. During screaming, crying, hormones are released that reduce pain. Even in adulthood, if it is very painful physically or emotionally, you can cry or scream and it becomes easier, have you noticed?

In the future, crying is the main way of interacting with adults and with the outside world. By screaming and crying, the baby informs the parents that it is painful, cold, hot, wants to eat, needs attention, it's time to sleep, etc.

A newborn cannot instantly adapt to life without maternal warmth and care, and therefore the baby requires increased attention to itself through crying. It is for the child to get used to the surrounding conditions to the new functioning of the body separately from the mother's womb, it is important to be near, to comfort and calm him down, and not leave one alone with his discomfort, which he cannot yet explain and express in another way, without screaming and crying.

In moments of crying, you can and should carry the child in your arms without fear that he will then get used to it and will not be weaned, but you can do this up to six months … You can also sleep with him in the same bed until about the same age, then transfer to a separate bed. To create comfortable and calm conditions in a separate crib, you can put next to your mother's thing (T-shirt, T-shirt, sweater), which she wore all day, so that the baby can smell the mother's milk. If the baby cries when you put him in the crib, do not leave, you are near, close, you can sing songs or say something in a calm voice without being annoyed by crying, as children very much feel the emotional state of the mother. And if the mother is nervous, then the child begins to worry even more.

Even adults sometimes cry to draw attention to themselves, although they know other ways of communication, unlike newborn babies! And while crying, what do you want to get from loved ones? Maybe words of understanding, or maybe support, or care, hugs or a kiss? Or do you want the person for whom you were trying so hard to express emotions leave the room, leave alone, yell, get angry, etc.?

Summarize:

1) the child cannot express in words what exactly bothers him.

2) the child will not cry because of "nothing to do", crying is always either a need or discomfort.

3) Before you start getting annoyed and angry, think about how you would like to react to you when you feel bad or lack attention.
