- A spoon for mom, a spoon for dad! - it is these words that very often cause serious problems in a person in the future.

Children who were forced to eat as children are at risk and are more likely to face the eating disorder problems that are now officially recognized as a disease. The most severe forms of such diseases are: Anorexia - refusal to eat, Bulimia - uncontrolled food intake and Psychogenic overeating - "seizing problems."

But despite this, a huge number of mothers and grandmothers in our country continue to cram soups, cutlets and boiled vegetables into the child.

Feeding often turns into torture. Reading these lines, many of you are wondering:

- And what to do if the child refuses to eat?

The only correct decision in this case is “do not feed”. Agree that not a single child has died of hunger with food.

But it is this decision that breaks all stereotypes and meets fierce resistance from mothers and grandmothers. Food in the post-Soviet space has been elevated to a cult. Food is a test for a good mom. A child's refusal to eat is a blow to the mother's self-esteem. In fact, how will she look in the eyes of relatives and acquaintances. Not a mother, but an echidna. And the child becomes an obstacle to perfection. And to remove the obstacle, all means are good: from threats and blackmail to perversion in cooking, in the form of artistic arrangement of food. Everything that the child would eat and the mother could put a tick in the box "I am a good mother."

At the same time, the question of benefit is not worth it at all. Not a single mother was able to answer my question about the benefits of fried cutlets with mashed potatoes, which they shove into their children.

So what if the child refuses to eat?

Wait until he gets hungry. The child must actively spend time: walking, playing sports, playing, in other words, he must spend energy. And here it is very important to organize the correct daily routine.

Feed your baby what he loves. Let your home always have fresh vegetables and fruits, cottage cheese and dairy products, dried fruits and nuts, boiled chicken, grain bread and cheese. The child can choose from this set whatever he wants and when he wants. Do not keep sweets and chips at home, even if they are stored in the store, you can always buy them, but a hungry kid will not be able to "intercept" sweets on the run.
