The body, deprived of affect and identification, remains subject - on the other side of the pleasure principle - to the arbitrariness of power. The body of suffering has two characteristic features - persecutory inclinations, due to which the subject needs a pursuing object with him, he connects the power and desire for death for the sake of feeling alive, and the ability to act, which is associated with the embodiment of suffering - torture, outbursts of anger, sacrifice, and the position of the victim …

The body of a person with a masochistic character structure is distinguished by full hips and a pelvis (even in men) while the shoulder girdle is stooped and looks as if a heavy load is on it, the chest looks depressed. The neck is short and thick. The masochist's gait is heavy, slow, and the body is rigid. Of interest is the gaze of a person with a masochistic character structure, which is directed from the bottom up. This is due to the fact that a person with this character structure has a very severe super-ego, which is spatially localized at the top. Therefore, such a trajectory of the gaze is not surprising. The need to endure suffering is explained as an attempt to soften the harsh super-ego, to ease the feeling of guilt.

Considering the structure of the body of a person with a masochistic character structure, several specific characteristics are usually noted. In terms of structure, all people of this type have a large body and well-developed muscles. However, it is not the physical strength of a flexible, agile athlete; it looks more like the destructive power of a gorilla. The similarity of the physical appearance of a person with a masochistic character structure with a gorilla is enhanced by a rounded back, a short thick neck, muscular arms and hips. People with a masochistic character structure show what is called "muscle stiffness." The aggressive energy of such people is turned inward, the body is squeezed from both ends by huge ticks.

The masochistic character shows developed muscles and lowered spirituality, as if the muscular system absorbed the spiritual component of the body and destroyed it. The masochist is down-to-earth, heavy, and his aggression is reduced. Excessive muscle development is not associated with motor activity, but with its retention.

Expression of the masochist's face is also limited, typically an expression of innocence and naivety, it can be wide open innocent eyes, a naive natural or silly smile. Behind all this lies fear, contempt, mistrust, and even deeper, a frightened child.

The masochistic character is formed by the pressure that a child experiences at about the age of 1-2, 5 years. The independence of the growing organism and its developing self are crushed by parental suppression, which does not take the form of open humiliation. Such suppression is masked by excessive attention, care, participation. Such measures are used: nagging, punishment, calls for the child's love for the mother and threats that the mother will stop loving and leave.

The permanent experience of a person with a masochistic character structure is the experience of his own badness. These people are dependent on other people's evaluations and opinions. Such people are excellent performers and a real find for bureaucratic structures. Epileptoid traits, attention to detail, patience and endurance make them indispensable employees. It should be noted that the masochist is characterized by duality - on the outside, obedience, obsequiousness, and on the inside, hostility. Sometimes a masochist can demonstrate passive aggression, however, according to my observations, they can use such acts of resistance against "their own kind" and never oppose the carriers of parental attributes.
