Several dozen of the most common disorders belong to the field of neuroses, and you have already familiarized yourself with many in previous articles. Today we will dwell in detail on one of the borderline syndromes - anxiety-depressive disorder (TDR).
Already at the first acquaintance, the name speaks for itself - neurosis has clinical symptoms characteristic of both depressive and anxiety disorders. It is very important to note that this type of neurosis can have a latent course for a long period of time, but without due attention to the problem - the manifestation of the disease sometimes has catastrophic consequences, up to mental disability.
A distinctive feature in the diagnosis of TDR is similar symptoms - both depression and anxiety disorder, in combination with autonomic disorders.
The symptoms of this disease can be roughly divided into 3 groups:
✔️ Depressive disorder: emotional lability, unmotivated fatigue, sleep disturbances, irritability, impaired concentration, attention, depression of the emotional background, lack of motivation, suicidal tendencies.
✔️ Anxiety disorder: unexplained fear, panic attacks, unnecessary anxiety;
✔️Disorder of the autonomic nervous system: attacks of palpitations from shortness of breath, sweating, nausea, chills, pathological pilomotor reflex ("goose bumps" effect), motor excitability.
The most common reasons for the development of this disorder are physical violence, psychotrauma in childhood, chronic stressful influences (financial problems, unemployment, loss of loved ones, etc.).
Since the general picture is always dominated by the symptoms of one of the groups, there are several types of psychopathology:
✔️generalized anxiety disorder - against the background of the general clinical picture, the symptoms of anxiety with autonomic disorders are most acutely indicated;
✔️ post-traumatic stress disorder - there is a designated psycho-traumatic factor (victims of violence, combatants, victims of car accidents). Manifests as panic attacks with vegetative to vegetative;
✔️ Truly panic disorder - panic attacks are observed, the frequency and duration of which increases over time;
✔️ anxiety-phobic disorders - symptoms of causeless anxiety and fear prevail against the background of emotional lability.
Therapy for anxiety-depressive disorder is quite complex and lengthy. In most cases, when the symptoms are pronounced, there is a need for medical support. Each episode is individual. Treatment should always be comprehensive.
The main method is psychotherapy - cognitive-behavioral therapy in combination with hypnotherapy allows you to achieve the fastest results. Pharmacotherapy cannot be the prevailing method of treatment, since it is not pathogenetic, but only an auxiliary method. Vegetative disorders can be stopped with the help of reflexology, physiotherapy, kinesiotherapy.
At the present stage, there are many recommendations for the treatment of neurotic disorders, but the introduction of certain methods, their combination, duration and intensity - completely depend on the preferences of a psychiatrist or psychotherapist.
Explanatory work must be carried out among the patient's relatives, since the atmosphere within the family has a direct impact on the possibility of future recovery and the consolidation of the results.
