Support you can't live without
When I was 12 years old, my brother and I climbed to the very top of the rock that formed on the site of an old quarry.
It was almost a sheer wall, we climbed up for a long time and when we got there, we realized that we couldn't go down, and we didn't have the strength to climb higher.
My brother was younger and after silent and frightened glances, he just cried.
This was the case when life had just begun and now it flashes before my eyes.
It is not easy to realize your own mortality during adolescence. Fearfully.
Were we afraid of death then? No. We were afraid of pain. If you fly down the sharp rubble, you will strip off the whole body in blood.
And then an inspiration. Flash of consciousness. Our neighbor Slavka remained at the bottom. Zassal and did not climb with us.
I shouted, I don't remember what exactly, but I called for help. Slavka quickly ran around the rock from the side where it was just a slide and held out his hand.
A minute later I was already next to Slavka, we pulled my brother together. We fell to the grass, our arms and legs trembling. From fatigue and excitement at the same time.
I looked up into the summer blue sky. And he smiled. How good it is to live.
Where can you find support if you are on the edge of life?
Often the support of someone who is ready to help is nearby. You only need to reach out or ask.
When my brother and I were hanging at the top of the cliff, we did not see anything that could help us, for a minute we forgot that we were not alone here.
You can do everything if there is a person nearby who believes in you.
Every person, at least once in his life, finds himself on the edge of an abyss. And he badly needs someone's shoulder, a helping hand in time and just a kind word from a supportive person.
Not everyone has enough confidence in the response of the other, faith in the help of the other, so not everyone seeks and asks for support. Many try to cope on their own and suffer the pain of loss, falling down.
If you turn to a friend, a casual travel companion, or a professional psychologist for help, then in most cases you get the help you need.
