- I don't respect my father. He is not a man!

- Mother ruined my whole life. Everything about her is disgusting to me!

Very often we begin to build our life as the complete opposite of the parental. Parents lived in poverty - we do our best to earn above average. Parents sat in front of the TV for years - we travel three times a year.

This is a lot of energy and drive. “I am not like my parents! I want, can and will live better!"

And this energy spurs us on, makes us go forward, overcome obstacles, endure adversity, temper our character.

“When my salary is not raised for a long time, I immediately think about the poverty in which my parents lived and start looking for a new job.”

"When I gain weight, I immediately think of my fat trust father and run to the gym."

But still, deep down, we feel that this evil, intemperate, indifferent, cruel, unsuccessful part of us has not gone anywhere, still breathing and wanting to live. No matter how we tried to kill her, or at least drown her.

And so at some point - usually when we seem to have already achieved everything we dreamed of - we suddenly feel sad and sad. As if life has completely lost its meaning, has ceased to please.

And we are surprised to find that we fell in love with the game shows, which were always watched by our disgusting mother, we went to receive a second higher education - for some reason exactly the same as that of the poor dad we despise …

And anger towards parents is gradually replaced by pain, disgust - understanding, fear - sadness and tenderness. And something akin to acceptance and forgiveness is stirring in our heart.

Because each of us has both a dad and a mom. And the more we try to run away from them, the further we run away from ourselves.
