If a person asks the question of how to find peace of mind, it is logical to assume that at the moment he is restless in his soul. There can be two reasons:

  1. There is emptiness on the soul, which presses and makes you suffer - there is nothing to "catch on".
  2. There is a heavy burden on my soul. In this case, you need to figure out what exactly is eating in order to dump this load and fill the void with something important.

There is an interesting and quite effective tactic that was developed by oriental monks. Its essence is to be always in the present, here and now. In most cases, our thoughts are in the past, in the future, or in fantasies. That is why such flights of our consciousness can ultimately cause anxiety and many negative feelings. If a person is here and now, nothing can disturb him. How to achieve this state? It's simple - performing any action, you need to fully focus on it, immerse yourself in it.

For example, eating. You need to develop your own ritual. If the aesthetic side is important for a person, you need to choose the most beautiful dishes that he has. If you like to cook, then you should prepare the dish yourself. But at the very moment of cooking, when performing simple actions (cleaning vegetables, cooking process, adding odorous spices), every second you need to think only about food. The most important part of this ritual is the actual food intake. You need to fully focus on the process, feel every moment - how the food enters the mouth and, in contact with the tongue and saliva, begins to dissolve. Does food taste sweet, salty, bitter, spicy, or pungent? All this can be felt, but every minute thoughts will still try to escape into the past and the present - how was the day, what will happen tomorrow? You need to try to go back to the present and focus on food intake and your inner feelings.

This exercise can be done every day. And it doesn't matter what it will be - a meal or some other conscious action. It is important to find for yourself 10-15 minutes a day to live in the present, here and now.

When cleaning an apartment, you can only think about the cleaning process itself, about each item that is rearranged. When laying out clothes on the shelves in the closet, you can also consciously be here and now, feel the touch of the fabric, its texture. Walking in the park or returning home, you can ask yourself the question "What am I doing and what I feel?"

The more such moments there are in a person's life, the calmer his soul will be. The emotional burden will pass over time, unless the person consciously passes it through the prism of his perception - in this case, the feeling of heaviness will only intensify. However, in reality, the load refers to the past or the future, but has no meaning for the present.
