INFORMATION OVERLOADING

In the morning, at first after waking up, I stopped opening instant messengers. On the one hand, this is my natural reflex. The same amount has changed in online life overnight! On the other hand, it began to change there so quickly and often that I started to burn out. For each person in the messenger, you need a gram of energy, which social people imperceptibly add up to tonnes in a day.

I have an absent-minded type of attention. I read one article, in ten minutes the second, in twenty minutes I watch the video, and in thirty minutes I return to the first. Absolutely so. In parallel, I can write an article. And this regime does not bother me a single gram. Information settles in me in short slides - what is needed for a Gen Z representative, to whom I relate more than millennials. I get tired of information very quickly, but at the same time new information to study surrounds me 24/7.

Recently, I asked someone in my environment to temporarily stop sending me information that would need to be studied. It is not surprising: two launched online courses, three books opened in parallel, four information portals that I need to maintain, mail, oh, yes, also mail, mail, mail … and mail. And more mail. Mail from everywhere. Remember this scene from Harry Potter?:) It is necessary to invest energy in all these things, but most of all - in living people, because when interacting with people, maximum awareness and attention is important, besides, you cannot simply rewind, close, or pause a person. However, sooner or later, with active social contact, ranking occurs. We cannot communicate equally thoughtfully and efficiently with dozens of people. Each has its own limit of comfortable interaction. Further - only ranking and limiting.

It takes time for me to start the “social program” in the morning. Take a bath, have a cup of ko-o-o-fe, that's all. Then I am mentally ready to face requests, requests, desires, contentment and discontent, comments - in short, the emotions of other people. Only and only when I have enough of them myself. And there are days when this resource does not exist at all. And I am not in communication at all or practically. I warn my interlocutors about this in different ways. I go away for a while from social contacts, as my laptop first of all closes the browser when overloaded. Reduces the load on RAM, turning off what most of all consumes it uncontrollably. Social energy exchange is a very unpredictable thing.

There are recommendations to turn off constant streams of information to yourself in principle. Do not study something at the same time, focus on one thing, and exclude, cut off, cut off everything else. Leave all groups, do not subscribe to new ones, block access to news feeds using applications and platform functions. The world is imparting information to us from everywhere, our century is not in vain endowed with the appropriate title. It is very difficult to escape from information, and, moreover, now each of us is considered as a source of information. Parameter set under ID-number.

And this is not my option. I want to learn too much in my segment of life. Therefore, as an alternative, I am doing the ranking of information flows. Smart tapes also help me a lot in this matter. Something interesting, some not. There is time for something, not for something. Something is useful, something is meaningless. I have coined the personal term "information fast food". Information that fulfills but does not saturate. Not rubbish, no. There are benefits in this category, but no benefit for the current period of my life. And I limit the consumption of this fast food, constantly keeping my finger on the pulse: what I am studying now, why and how I can apply it.

What are you doing now?
