A practical psychologist is responsible for ensuring that his service (consultation, diagnosis, correctional session) is provided with high quality, and this is possible only if ethical norms and rules are observed. Unfortunately, no law has yet been adopted on the territory of the Russian Federation that would regulate the activities of psychologists.

I would like to talk about the ethics of a psychologist in the format of online counseling. In the modern world, we are increasingly going online. And psychology is no exception. Thanks to the Internet, residents of even the most remote villages can get help from a psychologist. There are not only video consultations, but also audio and even text consultations. But the requirements for ethical standards should remain the same as when working offline.

1. The psychologist must ensure the confidentiality of the consultation, think about "safety". If there is a video consultation, then the psychologist should be in a separate closed room and wearing headphones, so that the client can calmly tell his problems without fear that someone will hear. If we are talking about audio or text format, then the psychologist must password-protect his phone and access to software applications.

2. The psychologist must have his own supervisor and contact him to work through the situation, if necessary.

3. If the specialist sees that he cannot help with the client's problem for any reason, he carefully and delicately finishes the therapy, taking care of the psychological well-being of the client.

4. The psychologist is obliged in his work to rely on moral principles:

- do no harm

- do not hang labels

- accept the client as he is

- keep your professional confidentiality

- indisputable priority of the client's interests

5. Another important criterion for the ethical activity of a psychologist is the moral level. The criteria for the development of the morality of the personality of a specialist are:

- having your own point of view

- formed ideological position

- tolerance for a different opinion

- acceptance of the right to a different point of view.

Diagnostics and correctional classes with children are a separate format. Nowadays, many educational psychologists have also gone online. Here you need to understand that the quality of services is falling. And the psychologist bears moral and ethical responsibility for his work. In my opinion, ethical problems now arise in the work of an online psychologist. And this must be dealt with.
