In times of crisis, it is quite difficult to find a job. But can this be considered a weighty reason to agree to slavish, clearly unfavorable working conditions? Forewarned is forearmed. I suggest that you familiarize yourself with the alarm bells at the interview, which may indicate serious disadvantages of future work. And it's up to you whether to agree to the recruiter's offer or not.
The cold, arrogant, arrogant tone of a potential employer
One of the most common test-taker pitfalls. It may seem to you that you are in a solid organization, where everything is very correct and strict, and only the best candidates are hired. The employer is kind of doing you a great favor by agreeing to hire you. Therefore, we urgently need to grab such a brilliant opportunity, otherwise they will take another, better.
In fact, in this way, employers often inflate their worth, employees simply do not value, and often humiliate them. If at the first meeting you were treated so coldly, imagine what will happen when you fall into the shackles of the organization. You will have to work under the guidance of someone who is "not like this." Think about it.
The recruiter shied away from discussing career prospects
Of course, no one in the organization knows you yet. But the issue of professional growth is a must-have item for every normal worker. And it is not only not ashamed to ask, but also necessary. After all, people with brains and abilities get a job not only for the sake of a salary. They need self-realization and recognition.
You should be alerted by the following phrases: “If you work for a year or two, then we'll see,” “It's too early for us to talk about this,” “We rarely vacate higher positions.” Their decoding is the same: "Forget about career growth." You will simply be used as an extra pair of hands. Until you get tired of it and decide to quit.
Quiet, intimidated, or overly fussy employees
After the interview (or before it), you approached one of the employees to inquire about the details of your future work, and in response you received fear in the eyes, silence or general phrases (“Normal”, “You can work”, “So-so”). Perhaps you were simply ignored. Of course, because people work here, they have no time to chat with strangers.
What did you see? You saw yourself in the future. The same will happen to you if you agree to take such a job. For example, a tyrant boss will beat you up so that you are afraid to utter a word about him. Or you will be so overwhelmed with work that you will not have the strength to raise your eyes, and any person who distracts you from the work (or any other factor) will become very annoying.
Of course, it’s okay if you’ve met only one such employee (or even two). Perhaps these are character traits. But when the whole team of the organization resembles a flock of sheep - be afraid.
You were offered a job too quickly
They did not ask questions, were not interested in past experience, education. You just came and … they took you. There is only one conclusion - there are very few people wishing to get such a place. Therefore, they take everyone in a row. But the reasons can be very different, ranging from low wages, ending with unbearable for the human body rushwork and stress.
There is one important exception here - you took a job through an acquaintance or recommendation.
The information received during the interview was too different from what was indicated in the job
Let's say you come to get a job as a secretary. On the website, in the vacancies section, the following duties were indicated: telephone conversations, work with documents, receiving visitors. And at the interview, it turned out that the secretary in the organization has to do many other work, for example, write reports, brew and serve coffee, clean the office.
Or you have noticed that there are too many wage gaps. So, on the site it was stated "from $ 500". But in fact, to earn even that $ 500, you need to work overtime, and even go out on weekends.
Unfortunately, surprises await you in the future. Is it worth it to agree to the offer of an employer who, at the very beginning, allows himself to lie or withhold essential work points?
After the interview, you feel empty
To quickly achieve success in a new business requires strong motivation and energy. Then it is more pleasant to work, and any difficulties can be endured with ease. Love for work is a huge career advantage, although people work without it. But mental discomfort always indicates that a person is out of place. Trust your feelings and intuition. If it seems to you that the future work is not for you, then it does not seem to you. Find what will give you strength and confidence in the future.
