I do not intend to talk here about the theoretical and practical aspects of the Gestalt approach, but I will write how I work in this direction.
It is important for me that in gestalt a lot of attention is paid to the sessions actual feelings and feelings of the client, which allows you to live painful experiences with a psychologist and transform them into an experience that you can remember calmly.
The modern person has a very highly developed intellectual sphere, and he tries to solve most of the problems through the mind and logic. But people are also endowed with different feelings: pleasant and not very, they cannot be turned off at will with a button, but they can be ignored and displaced. It helps for a while, and then it starts working against the person. Because, in fact, feelings do not turn off, they continue to influence thoughts and actions, only they are not realized and are no longer available for control, they are felt as incomprehensible discomfort and anxiety. It is as if an invisible saboteur settles inside a person, who intervenes at the most inopportune moment, breaking thoughtful plans and purposeful actions, making life a complete misunderstanding. I call it intrapersonal conflict, when the mind knows what to do, but constantly breaks down and, as a result, everything turns out not at all as intended. The most common manifestations of conflict can be the choice between want and need, “right” and desired, feelings and reason.
I am engaged in the research and resolution of intrapersonal conflictsusing the gestalt approach. You can meet with the idea that gestalt therapists recommend focusing only on feelings, they welcome the expression of any feelings everywhere and to everyone. This is highly exaggerated and bears little resemblance to the truth. Gestalt therapists offer notice your impulses and feelings, take them into account in your decisions and actions, use on a par with reason, adequately express the situation in communication with others. And I help the client, in a safe environment, discover and unfold their hidden impulses and feelings, explore them and give them the opportunity to use them to their advantage. It turns out that feelings can not be suppressed, they can be controlled. Thanks to this, a mass of energy and strength is released, which previously was spent on intrapersonal conflict, and now can be used to create the life that the client wants for himself. Moreover, noticing and taking into account their feelings, starting to focus on them and on thoughts in their actions, a person feels much more confident and stable. Because he sees the general picture of what is happening better and can more adequately assess himself, his strength and capabilities.

Working With A Dream In The Format Of The Gestalt Approach. Case Presentation
Analysis of this session posted with client permission. Friends, I want to show you working with a dream in the format of a gestalt approach. We studied this technique during our student days, in the course of practical psychology. Since then, I have periodically used a useful approach.
A Few Words About Legasthenia
The irony was that during the period of the most severe bullying of the least literate users on the network, I looked with pride at my one-year-old daughter, who was already making complex sentences with the correct arrangement of declensions, conjugations, conjunctions, prepositions and semantic accents.
Working With A Symptom In A Gestalt Approach
The psychosomatic approach is based on the idea of the connection between the body and the psyche. The existence of this kind of connection was known for a very long time. Ancient Greek philosophers have already written about this, discussing the nature of the disease.
Feature And Value Of The Gestalt Approach
In this article I want to share my discovery about the gestalt approach. It so happened that I "randomly" chose it as the main tool for my work. Frankl's existential approach has always been interesting to me, though. But in the absence of it in my city, I tried what is - gestalt.
About Gestalt Therapy In Your Own Words
For a long time I gathered my strength to write a short and understandable article about what Gestalt therapy is. First, I am often asked about what I do. Secondly, I want to share it myself. Thirdly, after all, for a professional, in my opinion, it is important to be able to tell about his activities simply, clearly and, if possible, as briefly.
