Depression can be great at hiding from yourself. Fortunately, there are many tips: "Run, do it, and it will never cover you!"

"Those who are busy are never depressed." - a well-known template of public opinion. But running during depression is like throwing someone to the toilet. Of course, you can run and even forget about your desire, but just at this moment, irreversible changes in the body begin.

Of course, doing business, like any physical activity, raises energy. And the advice of doctors is really this - “If you are“sad and sick and there is no one to give a hand to,”get up and do at least something. And the forces will appear”.

There are people who prefer to “survive” depression - to lie down, not to leave the house just enough so that the energy is collected for life. Such a “cumulative” strategy.

But all these strategies - both "running in" and "lying down" - are more like strategies of avoidance, waiting - "What if he lets go and passes by itself." Sometimes it really lets go, until the next dive. But this does not make life complete. As it was "half" and remains. A huge part of the energy is crushed by the permafrost crust. Most of the experience is frozen. And as soon as it starts to let in and thaw a little, it immediately covers with depression.

So what are the feelings behind the crust of depression?

Aggression

Depression is a stopped aggression. There is something that does not satisfy chronically and for a very long time, so long and habitual that it has already been forgotten, like this desire to go to the toilet. Raised and stirred up aggressive feelings are immediately suppressed. And a person, in order not to “kill” another, prefers to “mortify” himself by putting himself in bed.

If you just slightly pry on this crust of permafrost, you will find a lot of aggressive feelings and personal dissatisfaction under it.

Guilt

Dissatisfaction with oneself and one's life, claims to oneself - create a nauseous state in which guilt glimmers. A person may feel guilty even for something to which he personally is not at all involved, or to impose guilt on himself that does not correspond to the level of his responsibility. “Guilty without guilt”.

Sadness

Longing for what was lost. Loss unburned, mourning suspended. Suddenly recognizing this in himself, the person begins to cry. For the loved ones whom he lost, but did not give himself time to mourn them. Throughout the house in which he lived, as a child. For something that was taken away, lost, killed within himself, for a dead part of himself.

Cry for yourself.

“Depression is an endless inner crying on its own” p. Migacheva

Shame gets in the way of sharing this cry with someone.

“It's not a shame to cry on your own” - the life-giving words uttered by Svetlana Migacheva at one of the trainings on gestalt therapy gave hope to me and everyone who was there to mourn something very important and valuable, but lost and perished, a deceased, lost part myself. Perhaps these words will support you too.

Appeal to fate and God, to the world and to “people in general” with questions - “Well, why me? What is this to me?”- it is useless. This self-talk will only lead you to find “why” and spend most of your life “atonement for sins”. Humanity has created a whole institution for this, it has been working properly for the third thousand years.

It's important to share your cry with someone. It is the sharing of your experiences that becomes healing. Grief, mourned and supported by another person, decreases. The wound heals, and the soul heals.

Part of me died, but I'm alive

These words become a way out from under the yoke of permafrost.

Life anxiety

Waking up from sleep and starting to distinguish between their desires, a person may experience anxiety. It is much calmer in the cradle of prohibitions and limits.

“Do I have the right? "" Can I? " "But what if..?"

And if the awakened excitement for life is stopped, then the anxiety will grow, and with it discontent, aggression, and then cry for yourself and for ruined dreams and desires is not far off.

Therefore, it is very important not to stop yourself in these steps towards life, to seek support and step by step move towards satisfying your desires and dreams.))
