Techniques for entering hypnosis. There are quite a few hypnotizing techniques. Kandyba V. M. describes them in detail for more than three hundred in his book "Three Hundred Techniques of Deep Hypnosis". I will give examples of the most commonly used ones.

Elman's method

Consists of 3 parts. In the first part, the catalepsy of the eyelids is suggested with verification.

Then - muscle relaxation and the heaviness of the body are suggested, checking the result of the suggestion. The third stage is to inspire the forgetting of numbers. At the end, it is advisable to deepen the trance.

So, sit comfortably … Your task is simply to listen to my voice and do what I ask you to do. Know, if my requests are not accepted for you, you can easily refuse to fulfill them … Okay.

Now I will ask you to close your eyes and imagine as if your eyelids have become very heavy, so heavy that you cannot open them … As if heavy lead coins were tied to your eyelashes …. As if your muscles that lift the eyelids just atrophy … Close your eyes and let your eyelids become very heavy, motionless …. Okay.. Now I will ask you to try to open your eyes, but since the eyelids are completely relaxed, it will be very difficult for you to do this, almost impossible. Fractional or stepwise hypnosis

This method is used if the client is not very hypnotizable. The point is to alternately lead the client into a trance, and then not completely withdraw, but only ask him to open his eyes in order to ask what exactly is preventing him from relaxing. With each subsequent relaxation, the client will sink deeper and deeper.

"Now I will count to three, and on the number three, you open your eyes, tell me what is preventing you from relaxing more, then close your eyes and relax twice as much." So repeat until we get a deep, stable trance.

Hypnosis through fixation with the gaze of the object

The point of this technique is to make the client's eyes not move for a long time. In such a state, a person cannot think about anything, and, accordingly, will not be able to build logical defenses. Accordingly, a fixed gaze automatically induces a trance state. To do this, we place any object at a distance of 25-50 cm from the client's eyes, ask him to look at this object without taking his eyes off, and just listen to the voice of the hypnologist.

“Now I'm going to ask you to sit back more comfortably in your chair and start looking closely at this object. If your gaze slips off of it, you will direct it back to the subject. Your main task is just to look at this object and listen to my voice.

So let's get started. I hold an object in front of you, and you look at it. I'm going to ask you to just relax by looking at him … Okay.. Relax by listening to my voice. You can feel the relaxation of the muscles in your body.. Just let your body rest, relax. You can relax the muscles of your feet…. Okay … Now the calf muscles … hips…. Bernheim method

Ask the client to look at the palm (or fingers) of your hand. At the same time, we keep our hand at a distance of about 25 cm from his face, raising it above the level of the eyebrows. While you are giving the suggestion, we slowly lower our palm, and the client's eyes, following your palm, will also begin to close. In addition, eye fatigue will occur.

“Look at me and think about falling asleep. You feel the heaviness of your eyelids and the tiredness in your eyes; your eyes blink, get tired, vision becomes hazy … eyes close. Your eyelids are closing, you cannot open them. You feel heaviness in your arms and legs, your body is like a stone statue … you don't feel anything else … Your arms and legs are motionless, you cannot see anything. You rest as if in a dream. (If the client does not close his eyes for a long time, you can gently close his eyelids yourself, you can also continue to keep your fingers on his eyelids until you are sure that he has stopped resisting, that he is in a trance)

The need to sleep is getting stronger and stronger. You can no longer resist sleep. Sleep.. Sleep listening to my voice."

Shock method

This is a quick method of immersion in hypnosis, well suited for people who are hysterical, very emotional. The point of this method is to cause confusion, and during this confusion, quickly give the command "Sleep!"

Option 1: the client sits in a chair, you talk to him, then just ask to give you an object (it is important that this object is within the client's reach and does not cause surprise). When the client begins to pass this object to you, you need to grab his hand in the area of the hand with lightning speed (this will be the leading hand), pull his hand forward, causing the client to tilt to his knees and at this moment say loudly: “Sleep! Fall deeper and deeper into sleep! In the meantime, continue to bend the client's head by the neck to his knees.

At this point, he will already be in a trance. Do not hesitate, begin to deepen the arisen trance by the suggestion of complete relaxation and heaviness in the body. Check the catalepsy of the hand (raise the client's hand and let go: if the hand hangs in the given position, then the depth of the client's trance is sufficient for therapy. ).

2nd option To do this, invite the client to stand with his back to the chair or couch. Walk to the right side of the client and say, “Now I’ll help you fall asleep quickly, deep, healthy sleep. Stand straight, legs together, do not bend your body. You can close your eyes. " Next, place your right hand on the client's forehead and your left hand on the back of his head. With your own hands, slightly tilt the client's head back and begin to swing his body slightly back and forth with the words: “Your body is swinging freely. You are being pulled back more and more. Do not be afraid to fall - I will definitely support you. As you swing, you fall back more and more. " Then, by greatly increasing the swinging amplitude, the hypnologist must sharply press down on the client's forehead so that he begins to fall onto the chair. In this case, you need to say loudly: “Sleep! Sleep deeper and deeper! All muscles relaxed instantly! Complete relaxation of the whole body! " And then continue to deepen the trance, as in the first option.

Trance induction by overloading consciousness

The point of the method is to maximize the use of various human analyzers and logic, causing, in the end, overloading and disabling rational protection.

Ask the client to sit comfortably in a chair or chair. Now place your left hand on the top of the client's head, and with your right hand begin to do various passes in front of the client's face, keeping a distance of 25-30 cm from the face. At the same time, let us give the following suggestions: “Now I will ask you to start counting from 1 to infinity, just mention every third number, and skip the numbers between them. With each number mentioned, you will be able to relax more and more until you completely relax your whole body. Go ahead, start counting, and relax. So, okay …”You will notice that the client will call numbers slower and slower, quieter and quieter, until he falls into a" stupor ", can no longer name numbers. At this point, begin to give suggestions for total relaxation of the whole body, for the inability to keep your eyes open. When the client closes his eyes, you can stop making passes in front of his face and slowly remove your hand from his head. Continue deepening the trance until the arm catalepsy.

Suggestion on customer feedback

If you have revealed a backlash from the client to the suggestion, or if the client takes you "weakly", trying to prove to you that you cannot put him into hypnosis, then you need to act as follows.

Suggest the client not to relax, but to strain all their muscles as much as possible and for as long as possible. At the same time, say: “Try to resist my suggestions. … You may notice that the more you resist, the more you get tired and start wanting to relax yourself … Try not to listen to my voice, which relaxes you more and more … Well … Do not listen to my voice, to my soothing voice, because my voice soothes.. relaxes … It is very difficult for him to resist … it is difficult to resist relaxation…. Don't listen to my voice, which is so relaxing…. Confuses thoughts and consciousness…. The voice helps to rest and relax … The voice frees from worries … From fears … My voice just relaxes..”At the same time, gently place your hand on the client's leading hand in the forearm and begin to gently stroke it, continuing suggestions. When you notice that the muscles have relaxed and the gaze has become motionless, you can begin to give direct suggestions of complete relaxation and heaviness in the body. After induction of trance, check for catalepsy in the hand and continue deepening if necessary.

Some people are afraid to go into hypnosis and not get out of it. It's a delusion. It is impossible to be in a trance state for a long time. Usually, if you do not specifically take the client out of hypnosis, he will wake up on his own within 1-2 hours.

Hypnotic trance is completely harmless. Time spent in a trance is a time of rest and relaxation. Try it and you will love it!
