Some people “want” to sign up for a consultation with a psychotherapist, but require proof of the results of psychotherapy or wonder what will happen if there is no result. So, I do not work and will never work with the resistance of people who only think whether they should come for a consultation. If you do not know the person, you cannot predict the possible outcome. And besides, as experience shows, none of them ever comes for a consultation.

So, make an adult decision, figure it out, go to a psychotherapist, pay for a consultation, and they will start working with your resistance. Within therapy, this problem can be worked out, but not outside.

Why are people sitting out their lives instead of improving it right now? Why are they wallowing in some false beliefs? What stops you from seeing a psychologist?

There is no clear request formulated. A potential client of a psychotherapist can mentally twist his situation for several months, instead of turning to a therapist and giving away what is. And if so to speak? - No, something is not right! And if you "flip vertically"? - Again, not so! And if daddy is tied here? - Maybe not worth it? Do I need to talk about relationships? And about mom? Maybe you need to talk about your brother? - I probably forgot something else!

Remember - no matter what you say at the consultation, an experienced psychologist will not miss the important thing. Yes, the time of one consultation may not be enough to fully understand, but the psychologist will tell you which problem area hurts the most. The first 3-5 phrases of the client always give the therapist an understanding of what's what, where and where.

Don't discount the power of the conversation when you can just get it out - this is a really important process. Let me give you an example - a woman went for a consultation and told about a deuce, which she had never told anyone about (she lied, and she was ashamed for many years), and after the session she left enlightened. Believe me, it is not so difficult to clarify what exactly hurts you, and everything else is words, nuances. It can take six months for you, and one hour for an experienced therapist.

And while you are spinning your request in your head, your life is going downhill!

  1. It's scary that it will hurt to pick up injuries. If you do not feel pain, this does not mean that the body is not in pain at all. Injuries take up a huge amount of strength and energy - you need to contain them, service them (so that the injury does not surface, explode and affect your life). So, while you are afraid, life continues to move nowhere, and energy is spent on at least keeping afloat.

  2. I had a bad experience, again I am afraid to get into such a situation. You can suffer all your life, reveling in your pain, or you can try to take risks, get out of this pool of pain and find someone who will help you. Remember - a psychologist cannot injure you (the probability is reduced to 0.01%), for this he must deliberately hit the same place in order to wound again or sharply reveal something painful.

How does PTSD develop in adulthood? People got to the war, and a mine exploded in front of them. From visiting a psychologist, a new trauma does not arise, you have a retrauma, so try to go to several psychologists with this problem until you find your own. The more you deal with retrauma, the more you work it out.

There is nothing critical - you are very happy with your relationship, your loneliness. Yes, it is alarming every day, tired of waking up in a bad mood for 5 years in a row, but this is nothing critical!

Understand - it will be critical at the age of 60 to understand that you have wasted 30 years in vain, and nothing has changed during this time.

No money. Where will the money come from if you are not dealing with your psyche? Where does the psyche get resources to earn more? Your psyche spends all resources to contain injuries, not to let them collapse, to exist at least somehow. If you do not deal with all this, this will be existence throughout life. Metaphorically, it can be compared to driving a broken car, when you hope that it will fix itself. If today you need to invest $ 100 in car repair, then in a year the amount will increase to $ 500. In other words, you will always be in the red, you will always owe more and more, and more, closing some loans, and not putting it off for the future. It is the same in the psychological sense - we either go to the plus, or to the minus.

Let me give you an example from my own experience. Since the end of last year, I started going to therapy 3 times a week, and as a result, my life began to change, internal resources appeared that allowed me to develop further, move forward. I grew up in a family where the upper wage limit was $ 200, the higher my parents simply did not see. Nobody helped me, I achieved everything myself, and I wish you this! You, you and only you are the most important person in your life, so you should not regret anything for yourself. When you heal yourself, all areas of life will begin to rise upward. Of course, don't expect a miracle from one consultation, invest your energy wisely in order to grow - and sooner or later you will have 10 out of 10.
