WHERE TO TAKE THE RESOURCE?

Part one

Parable "Magic Staff"

There was only one person in the world and he was wretched from childhood. I could not stand, walk and even hold a spoon in my hands. He lay all day on the stove and thought about his hard part. At first, he prayed to the Lord for healing, then he began to think about getting rid of earthly sufferings, after that he even stopped talking to his loved ones.

He lay there, sick and desperate, for thirty years and three years. True, he would have lain on the stove until his death, but it so happened that the traveler knocked on his hut and asked for a drink.

“I can’t give you a drink,” the man replied. - I, read, thirty years and three years and I can not take a step.

- When did you try to take this step? the traveler asked.

- It was a long time ago, - answered the man. - I don't even remember when.

- Well, - said the traveler, - I'll help you. Here, take the magic staff and bring me a drink.

Not remembering himself for joy, the man climbed down from the stove, picked up a magic staff and … took one step, then another, then a third.

- How can I thank you ?! the man exclaimed. - And what is the miraculous power in your staff?

- There is nothing miraculous in it! - answered the traveler. - I gave you a handle from the spade, which I picked up in the yard. And you got up because you forgot about your weaknesses, and therefore you won over your illness. You don't need to thank me. It is better to find in this world the same unfortunate person as you were recently, and help him.

So what are resources?

In psychology, this term is often used, since the main goal of a psychologist is to help a person who turns to him, who finds himself in a difficult situation, to cope with his problems by activating his internal resources and searching for external ones.

Scientifically speaking, the RESOURCES of an individual are all those life supports that are at the disposal of a person, and allow him to provide his basic needs: survival, security, involvement in society, respect and self-realization in society.

Resources are divided into external and internal. External resources are material values, social statuses (roles) and social connections that provide support for society, help a person outside. Internal resources are personal potential, character and skills of a person that help from the inside. However, both those and other resources are closely related to each other and, with the loss of external resources, gradually there is a loss of internal resources. Simply put, external resources are everything that surrounds us in the external world, and what we can use: our environment (friends, relatives), finances and other material values (house, car, etc.). Information (education, personal development) is what inspires us and gives us strength: travel, cultural environment (theater, cinema, music, etc.), favorite activities: dancing, drawing, and much more.

Internal resources already flow from the latter: these are our knowledge, abilities, skills, our character and the peculiarities of our psyche (the strengths of our personality). The more we acquire internal resources, the higher our ability to recover from the loss of external resources, the higher our resistance to external factors, stronger will, self-awareness and efficiency itself, stress resistance.

Discuss and write down for yourself what external and internal resources you have: who surrounds you and gives you support, what you know how and what you like to do, how you use your knowledge and skills to realize yourself in the outside world.

Quite often it happens that people do not even know what resources they have. Well, with external resources everything is more or less clear, tk. they are external, it is easier to detect them (although it happens that in difficult times a person does not even notice external resources). And with the internal ones, it's a little more difficult: well, we love, for example, to draw or write stories, but how can these skills be implemented in society so that it benefits not only us, but other people as well. After all, from the same parables it is known that talent buried in the ground has no value! Therefore, it is important not only to be inspired by yourself, doing what you love, but also to be useful to others.

Part two. WHAT IS STEALING OUR RESOURCES

Once a man went into the forest to pick mushrooms. He left in search of a thicket of woods far from the village, but accidentally fell into a deep hole. He tried in various ways to get out of this hole, but he couldn't do it: this hole was too deep. Then he began to call people for help, and by a happy coincidence, hunters passed not far from him, tracking down their prey.

The hunters heard that the man was calling for help, and they hurried to him. We found a thick branch, stuck one end of the mushroom picker in order to pull it out of the hole, but he doesn't even think to climb out …

One hunter says to him: "Grab the branch, dear man, and get out of the hole. We will pull you out together!"

And the mushroom picker replies: “I don’t know how I can grab a branch, and I don’t have the strength to hold on to it. You better get down into the hole and give me a lift …”

More and more people are complaining that they lack strength, internal energy, not only for the implementation of some global goals (starting a business, for example), but for elementary things: meeting friends, going to the cinema, doing something another favorite thing. People more and more often after work prefer to lie at home on the couch in front of the TV or surf the Internet in the form of relaxation, thereby depriving themselves of the resources that nature has given them.

Let's see what can "steal" our strength and resources.

If we talk about external resources, then the main "thief" is not a favorite job, a job not by vocation. Here energy "merges" in huge quantities, since such work does not bring inspiration, even if a person achieves some serious results and builds a career. The higher a person climbs the career ladder, the more energy he spends. If the work does not bring moral, "spiritual" satisfaction, but provides only the financial side, it will not fill with energy, and, therefore, will cease to be a resource. On the contrary, it begins to "steal" our forces.

Another of the main "robbers" is our environment. People with whom we are not comfortable, not interested, who do not share our values, also take a lot of our energy. They are also called "energy vampires". If you do not feel like you are filled with joy after interacting with certain people, try to limit contact with them. If these are work colleagues or even parents, go to formal communication: talk only about business, work, not showing too much emotion.

The "robbers" of external resources can also include information that does not develop us, but, on the contrary, takes us away from reality (now a huge amount of such information has appeared). Even useful knowledge that we do not use in practice or do not share it with people ceases to be a resource. They become a kind of "swamp" for us: we begin to engage in "accumulation", look for more and more information, plunge into our thoughts, withdraw into ourselves and, thus, also lose our strength.

And what is “stealing” our internal resources?

As I wrote above, we lose energy when we do not use our knowledge and skills to benefit ourselves and, most importantly, society.

With this, it seems, it is clear. How, for example, can our character become a "thief"?

The fact is that our character, in contrast to the temperament given to us at birth, is capable of changing both for the better and for the worse.

What we in this case, we define as character: our internal personality traits, our reactions to external stimuli (situations). We can react to each situation in different ways: refrain from criticism, or be rude, remain neutral towards the offender, or hate him. And these reactions can both fill us with a resource, and "steal" us.

If you ask each person - what, what qualities prevent him from developing, then, most often they call it: laziness, unwillingness to do something, again, lack of energy. But, in fact, not everything is so simple: usually the interfering factor is procrastination, sabotage itself, but simply postponing things for later. And here the obstacle is not laziness at all, but inner uncertainty, fears, deep unworked trauma.

Another of the important reasons for the loss, "drainage" of our energy and resources, and, I would say, the most important reason is our GRATITUDE, which, in turn, originates from our PRIDE. Ingratitude not only “devours” our internal resources, but also devalues the help that people are trying to give us. As a result of ingratitude, we refuse the external resource offered to us, we do not value it, and therefore, we do not see it, we do not understand how to use it, thereby depriving ourselves of energy.

It is important to learn how to manage your emotions, develop your emotional intelligence, your inner competencies and qualities. It is necessary to work through your inner traumas, free yourself from the inner eyes of your ignorance, in order to build up your inner resources and use them successfully.

And why is this parable at the beginning of the second part of the article, you ask.

For reflection. Everyone will see in it his own "gags" that prevent him from developing harmoniously and using resources. Or not everyone …
