The topic of "Destiny" is still at the forefront of mental fashion. And in order to see this, it is enough to go to any social network or google the list of popular trainings. Everyone talks about this - starting with modern writers, as if they were some ancient priests of the goddess Ananke (the Greek goddess of the determination of Fate and omens), ending with non-degree psychological trainers and other "designers of people" who are eager to once again paint the fate of another person (apparently, correcting his own).

One way or another, among the famous writers touching on this topic there are such as: A. Sabkovsky, D. Martin, P. Coelho, Philip Dick and others. Among professional psychologists, they talked about this … It seems that only Carl Jung and his followers (that's an incident!) … The rest of the classics, apparently, were so afraid to seem "mystics" that they did not even promise about such things that threaten to be stigmatized for them.

Professional psychological view

Maria-Louise von Franz (a student of C. Jung) described the Jungian approach to destiny, including through the metaphor with a tree: the seed of the Pine has the potential to become ONLY the Pine, and she either becomes it or not. Obviously, a person needs to display his active activity to a disproportionately greater degree in order to realize more or less fully the potential of possibilities already "sewn" into him (by genetics and the history of growing up). It is also obvious that we do not have any instrument for checking "is a person free or not" (whatever the mystics would answer on this topic) - this is rather a question not about reality, but about in what situations we apply this or that model. If a person thinks in the spirit of "the train will pass only where the path is laid" (S. Makarevich) - then he deprives himself of the opportunity to actively change his life, bringing it closer to the ideal of what he wants to be. At the same time, if he operates with the idea of the omnipotence of reason, creating endless projects, then reality will hit him in the nose, demonstrating to him the presence of unconscious actions through the painful consequences for the "I" from them, until the person begins to notice the other side " medals ".

Thus, it is believed that it is always useful at the level of attitudes to learn to keep in the middle of two extremes, then a person has the most opportunities to assimilate the widest repertoire of behavior models, and accordingly apply each of them "to the place". If we discard metaphysics and reasoning about the "divine spark", which can neither be refuted nor proven in practice, it becomes clear that a person contains the following structure that determines the achievements and losses in his life:

Thus, it becomes clear that the fact about the possibility of a person's learning does not contradict, but complements the picture, which takes into account his potential. Rather, it is even realized to a greater or lesser extent through activity and learning. The whole problem is that a person cannot know for sure exactly where he might be. This is very sharply said in one film of the past era: "every person is capable of much, the whole point is that he does not know what exactly he is capable of!"

A vivid and shocking example is Sergei Shnurov, who in his youth even worked as a security guard, graduating from the philosophy (!) Faculty, not suspecting how his obscene, but sharp-to-sense songs would "shoot" him. So much so that then he will treat teeth in Germany for 10,000,000 (!) Wooden ones.

This and similar stories of becoming at the world level are in many ways similar to a lottery: Gallileo said that the Earth is round - and for this they burned him, Shnurov began to sing about the ordinary life of a modern Russian person - and became super-famous.

To the question of the need for potency, which then a person with his mind and deeds will have to bring to life, if he wants to realize himself, you can see that Shnurov's songs would not be played anywhere if:

1) at the "beginning of the beginnings" of his career, he did not have a purely internal desire to write and play songs based on his philosophical view, and immediately, on a paradoxically simple form

2) instead of working hard as a musician, he would engage in self-devaluation

3) singing such songs would be prohibited by law, etc.

But all these "if" did not happen due to what happened in reality.

Conclusion

I led the entire article to the fact that today, leaving the question of "divine predestination" outside the brackets, one can adequately and even in a scientific spirit look at your "destiny" in terms of the following cultural paradigms:

1. You always have exactly your potential, consisting at once of the possibility of outstanding achievements in some cases, and very mediocre in others, which, without your sincerely aspiring work in the system, will simply remain potential (without migrating into reality).

Example: if you have no hearing, then you have no opportunity to learn music in the classical way. But most likely it is possible in some other way, if you really want it.

2. The future is a spectrum of potential opportunities (S. Hawking);

3. "Fate leads those who want, and drags out those who do not want" (metaphorically speaking) (M. Fry);

4. "The sword of destiny has two points - one of them is you, the other is death" (A. Sabkovsky) - or in each potential of development lies the opportunity to be realized, as well as to remain "buried" in a person in the absence of the appropriate quality and amount of effort;
