Any person must constantly take into account the peculiarities of the temperament of the people with whom he has to work and communicate. This is necessary for effective interaction with them, reducing the likelihood of conflict situations, avoiding possible stress.
I am very interested in temperament as a personality trait, so I have studied a large amount of literature on this issue, and also diagnosed many adults and adolescents to determine the type of temperament. Having enriched with this experience, I want to share with you the main aspects on the issue of temperament that can be useful in everyday life.
- Temperament is one of the mental properties of a person, but people with the same temperament turn out to be very different.
- Only a few people are pure representatives of the types of temperament set out below. Along with the features of a choleric person, a person may have, for example, noticeable signs of a sanguine person; the melancholic has phlegmatic features, etc.
- There are people who are distinguished by rather vivid manifestations of one or another type of temperament.
- There are no better or worse temperaments.
- Efforts in contact with a carrier of a particular type of temperament should be directed not at correcting it, but at the competent use of the merits and advantages.
Choleric:
- strong nervous system;
- easily switches from one to another;
- imbalance of the nervous system reduces getting along with other people;
- prone to sudden changes in mood;
- quick-tempered, impatient, prone to emotional breakdowns.
Sanguine:
- strong nervous system;
- good performance;
- easily moves on to other activities, to communication with other people;
- strives for frequent change of impressions;
- easily and quickly responds to ongoing events;
- failures are relatively easy.
Phlegmatic person:
- strong workable system;
- with difficulty switches to another job and adapts to a new environment;
- a calm, even mood prevails;
- feelings are constant and inexpressive.
Melancholic:
- low level of mental activity;
- slowness of movements;
- restraint of facial expressions and speech;
- high emotionality, sensitivity to everything that happens around him;
- sensitivity to others;
- a tendency to experience problems within oneself - a tendency to self-destruction.
Identifying the type of temperament allows you to more competently build relationships, determine the style of your behavior, predict your partner's reactions to certain of your words and actions. Moreover, you can even influence him in the process of communication by selecting and unobtrusively displaying certain colors.
