Author's title: Who is kissing your boat?
I have a problem, - the person says, - I cannot solve it.
Life depends on the ability to solve problems. Financial position. Status in society. Internal strength. Willingness to take a hit. The ability to enjoy life.
The ability to solve a problem is the core thing, anyway.
“What doesn't kill us makes us stronger. There is always a way. It is better to negotiate with the problem, not to fight. You are either part of the solution or part of the problem. The solution to the problem lies on a level higher than the one at which it arose. You have no problems, you have the ability to worry …”.
You can list the options for a very long time. Those interested can be convinced by driving "problem solving" into the search engine. Behind each approach is a successful life experience of a person … and more than one. Many options indicate that there is no universal solution to the problem … And also, the aforementioned set, as if telling a person with a problem:
- Do not even hope that someone else will be able to suggest a solution, - it says to the person, - you yourself will have to look for an approach to the problem. Are you surprised? Is it so? Let's figure it out.
A person solves most of his own problems himself. The results are fine with him. More often, he does not think exactly how he was looking for and found a solution … Why, in fact? The problem is solved!
The sequence for solving the problem was built by him in the past. In the present, the person simply uses it. More often, out of habit.
This is not always the case. Occasionally, life challenges a person that puts him in a difficult position … The usual solution algorithm no longer works.
- It's too difficult. Many unknowns. Not enough data. This is beyond my strength. My position has no way out. I have nothing to answer this challenge, - the man throws up his hands.
At first glance, the problem is perceived as an external challenge. This is not entirely true. A problem is a signal that a person has lost the ability to make the right decisions. Exactly. The process of loss is "stretched" over time. Therefore, it is not possible to discover, "in fact", the loss. Risks grow, and a critical moment comes, called a problem.
- The problem is a hard question, requiring research and solution, says the definition found in the explanatory dictionary, that which is difficult to resolve and implement.
If the problem is a hard question, then the rest of the questions are simple. What makes a difficult question different from a simple one? A person gets answers to simple questions thanks to the experience and knowledge that he already has. His thinking, without delay, "gives out" the answer to a simple question. The situation is different with a complex issue (problem). It takes time to research and find an answer. This is because the answer, like the question, does not contain the area of known, accessible to man, knowledge and experience.
Solving simple questions, a person turns to the known, the known, the old. The solution to a complex issue requires him to turn to the unknown, the unknown, the new. The answer found in the domain of the known is not difficult and is considered simple. The answer to a difficult question lies in the domain of the unknown.
Why does a relationship with the unknown, the new cause difficulties for a person? Because a decision based on a new, unknown, a person considers a threat to his own safety … It threatens him with potential risks. He is unable to foresee the consequences of such a decision and, therefore, prevent it in time.
Solving a simple question leaves a person in a "comfort zone", safe. Solving a complex issue moves you to a zone of discomfort, risk and danger. Therefore, as long as it is possible, when faced with a difficult question, a person prefers to look for the answer in the existing experience and knowledge.
Humanity has long been familiar with the consequences of such inert thinking. A false solution fixes the problem and creates a number of new, a true solution removes the underlying problem and, with it, a number of others. This pattern is known to many.
At a certain moment, a person is faced with an unpleasant fact - his decisions reduce the quality of his life. He solves one problem and gets three in return. And these three, in turn, give rise to ten. Progression. The man stops. Eventually. Realizing that not doing will bring him fewer problems than he will create them with his solutions.
There is no universal solution to the problem in nature. Not because it has not yet been invented or because it is carefully hidden. It does not exist due to the fact that a ready-made solution, an algorithm is always old knowledge … The true solution to a complex issue is based on a new one. On what knowledge is not.
Why does a decision based on old experience and knowledge turn out to be false? Because of the desire for security. Because of the need for thinking to respond to the new (problem) with the help of old knowledge. The person's thinking ignores the changes brought about by the problem. Changes left unattended in the process of finding a solution create new problems, regardless of whether the problem that caused them is solved.
This post does not deal with methods of researching new things in search of true solutions. The reader can find them on the Internet. Or discover it yourself, following on. Personal research, perhaps, will lead the attentive reader to understand that his thinking, wanting to stay longer in the zone of safety and comfort, "kills" the quality of his life. That the comfort zone is, in fact, the most dangerous and risky space of all the potential places in which he should be. What a problem is a sign that the comfort zone in which he “sat too long” is no longer even a “border strip” … And that he should immediately get out of it, otherwise, subsequent problems will cause him significant damage.

If You Cannot Forgive Someone - Look Where You Have Not Forgiven Yourself
If you understand what feelings you want to evoke in a person, then you can understand what you feel yourself. I can't say that the rule works 100% of the time, but when emotions are captured at lightning speed, this should be taken into account.
How A Simple Drawing Can Help Solve A Problem
How a simple drawing can help solve a problem Once I met by chance with one of my acquaintances, whom we had not seen for a long time. We decided to sit in a cafe, chat over a cup of tea, and ask each other about the news. So word for word, and my friend shared her situation with me:
A Person Is Not A Problem, A Problem Is A Problem
Narrative approach a relatively young trend in modern psychotherapy and psychological counseling. It originated at the turn of the 70-80s of the XX century in Australia and New Zealand. The founders of the approach are Michael White and David Epston.
There Is A Problem? We Solve Them Together! (practical Recommendations Of A Psychologist)
In life, every person has unpleasant problem situations. It is often very difficult to figure out and find a way out of them yourself. Then the person's hands drop, and obsessive thoughts creep into his head: “Now everything is gone. I can’t do anything anymore.
Solve My Problem In Two Days! Is It Possible?
Such requests from people who are not familiar with psychotherapy are heard quite often. People find out that you are a psychologist and immediately try to get a universal recommendation on the problem they are interested in. I believe that explaining to interested people that psychotherapy does not work in this way and that there are no universal answers is an educational task of psychotherapy.
