What does mindfulness in sexual relationships mean?
"Sexual intercourse" is not always a sexual intercourse between a man and a woman, and this is well known to all. What prevents us from being aware of contact with the opposite sex, if a partner, interlocutor, any person we meet, causes an irresistible attraction (it can be a photo that attracted attention), which will evoke certain ideas in you.
These ideas are getting sexual pleasure as the end result, achieving the goal as the highest pleasure, that is, orgasm. Comprehension of what is happening to you at the moment of these ideas (desires, fantasies), the main meaning of how to be able to maintain awareness and not succumb to momentary instincts.
To contemplate means to be present in the moment now, in the present. When you are aware, you are not at the mercy of lust. At these moments, you must ask yourself whether you are the impulse in this power, or you are the knowing and controlling. How to be able to survive this moment without losing yourself ?!
Choose a place where there is what attracts you, entails. Try to think about what is happening to you now and be aware of what is absorbing your attention. For example, the desire to attract the attention of women. You do everything to get it.
Be in this space. Try to observe this impulse. When you are totally absorbed in it, what happens to you ?! You are overwhelmed by the desire to receive female attention, body, affection, something that you have so lacked since childhood, lack of love and care of the mother.
Can you contemplate this.
And so, if you have an impulse, can you feel yourself as present of this impulse, as an observer. You always have a choice, to follow this challenge, impulse, or to observe this experience is to be a witness of what is happening. Find your freedom even when these impulses arise. Don't get lost in the unconscious.
