In our story, the transformation of the heroine begins after the end of the unconscious relationship. Pregnant Psyche is abandoned and left to herself. She does not know how to do anything, and what could the tsar's daughter learn, who lived first under the tutelage of her father, and then on everything ready in the divine palaces? When Eros leaves her, she feels so unable to cope with life that she tries to drown herself. But the river is relentlessly carrying her to the shore. She seems to be saying, "Your life force is too great, dear. This is not the end of the story."

And Psyche goes with a bow to different goddesses, but they all say: "This is not for us. This is your business with Aphrodite." Not only is Psyche already uncomfortable, she also has to confront an angry goddess. Aphrodite agrees to listen to her and even promises to return her son to her if Psyche completes all her tasks.

The Goddess of Love gives Psyche four tasks. Having overcome them, Psyche will go through the changes she needs. And our further story is about four tasks and how a woman's soul grows. She changes with every little feat. With each task she knows, can and can do more than before.

In the first task Aphrodite commands (well, purely Cinderella's stepmother) to sort out a huge pile of different grains. A great metaphor for an unidentified inner potential. Heaps of opportunities, emotions, abilities, chances, resources that each of us has. But we don't really know anything about them at the very beginning of the period of changes. Seed sorting is an inventory. What capabilities does your soul and not only your soul have? How much money do you have in the bank? How much energy do you have for business, for life, for love? What talents do you have? What do you want? Do you have a dream finally? If you have a dream, you will have to sort out the grains first.

In our story, Psyche's first reaction is despair. She has never done anything like that in her life, she is unable to do it and she is already ready to surrender. She has no idea how to approach this. And now he is the symbol of the decision. Ants. The ants, with their little steps, make the task doable. It does not need strength, speed and onslaught, it needs attention to detail and gradualness. One ant is one grain. And by morning, the whole pile of grains is sorted. Wheat to wheat, millet to millet, and buckwheat to buckwheat.

* In any difficult and incomprehensible situation, go to bed, swing your ass, sort the grains. What do you have? What can you, even when it seems that you can no longer do anything? Who are the ants that can help you?

When Aphrodite discovers that the task is completed, she does not jump for joy at all and again puzzles Psyche.

In the second task the girl must collect wool from golden-fleeced sun sheep. A little, but it is from them, and bring this wool to Aphrodite.

Young Psyche goes to see the Apollo sheep enjoying the lush grass in the meadows. It turns out that these are hefty rams with serious horns and a very difficult disposition. They fight each other every now and then, symbolizing a world ruled by strength and competition. And powerful rams in this world are like fish in water. For them, all this competition is just a big game.

Psyche understands that going down into the valley and pulling the wool from these restless animals is like death. They'll just trample her. And she again does not know how to approach this task. The girl again descends to the river and this time a talking reed turns out to be her magic assistant. "Psyche," the reeds rustle, "you don't have to break directly. The rams feed on the energy of the sun. Wait until sunset. They will go to sleep, leaving enough scraps of wool on the thorns of nearby bushes and tree branches. You can collect the wool and complete the task."

Reed, who suggested a different tactic to Psyche, possessed wisdom. Your life is not about how much strength or money you have, how much weight you can lift, and whether you are capable of butting head-to-head with all the rams in this world. The wise cane rustles about the importance of listening to your own rhythm. He advises where and how to gain the strength you need and not allow yourself to be trampled, not to allow your soul to be destroyed even for the sake of what is so necessary. "The only thing that you cannot pay for the deepest desire of the heart is with the heart itself." Listen to the voice of the reed, to your inner voice, it grows on the banks of the very river that did not allow Psyche to die.

This task reminds us of what can happen to the soul of a woman, to Psyche, however, neither women nor men are immune from this. When you enter a competition (which is almost always the case if you are looking for money and success in the outside world), you can get trampled if you try to do it "head-on" or start wanting more and more Golden Fleece.

* Here again, as with love and Aphrodite - the archetypal figure absorbs our personality. Desiring more and more, you completely merge with the golden rams (the archetypal symbol of outer wealth and success) and leave your soul somewhere along the way, or simply forget that you have a soul. In this case, they will certainly trample her.
