Each of the Tarot Arcana describes some facet of Reality (or Illusion), depending on the dogmas of faith. Arcana illustrate archetypes, various modalities of being. Today we are talking about the Magician.

He is called the "Jester's Mask" worn on the "Great Nothing", which is the Jester or the Fool. Empty space, emptiness, pleroma. Primordial, eternal, unmanifest potentiality.

And on this "nothing" is put on the Mask of the Magician, who also Creates the Illusion of Reality. Magician or Conjurer? Or maybe a buffoon and a charlatan? All these names and masks fit equally comfortably on Nothing.

Here is an interesting (classic, if you believe the grimoires), definition of magic: "This is the science and art of creating change in the real world through your will." Here's how not to remember K. G. Jung, who wrote: "magic is another name for the psychic."

Don't we all strive to change not only the world around us, transforming it, but also other people around us? Do we not use the fruits of positive psychology and the movie "The Secret" that the inner state of a person reflects the external state of his affairs?

Therefore, we all experience the archetype of the Magician in one way or another and in one or another hypostasis. Someone, with an inner involvement in his power, calls himself a "witch" or "magician", in fact, he makes his reality on the basis of internal psychological work. Someone thoughtlessly follows external "rituals" and is more like the very "monkey with a grenade", more precisely, the monkey Thoth, depicted on the Magician's Card, showing an example of buffoonery.

Every Archetype (and every Arcanum) is dual. Has a "black and white" nature. For example, Mercury, one of the incarnations of the Magician, he is the god of communication, trade, and, at the same time, deception, and thieves.

The magician creates an illusion out of nothing. What kind of "reality" will turn out depends on the skills of the Magician. On his card, the symbols of 4 elements, correlated with the 4 kerubal animals of the Zodiac. And the formula for creating Reality:

Find a fulcrum in the material world (Disks)

Find the inner criterion of Truth (Sword)

Make yourself a chalice ready to receive the divine revelation of gnosis (Chalice)

Lead your personal will in accordance with the will of the highest (Wand).

Describing the Work of the Magician in this way, one can find a close intersection with the psychological work of self-development according to one's own will in the chosen direction. Just … how not to fall into the web of your own illusions?

As life shows, the highest "magic" aerobatics is possible. The film "Illusion of Deception" by Louis Leterrier illustrates it brilliantly. Some Tarot cards appear in the film about the "four horsemen" (I immediately had an allusion to the Apocalypse) who take revenge in monetary terms (though they do not know that they are taking revenge, they are "puppets") to people responsible for the death of one great magician.

The double "magic" title corresponds to the content of the film. The one who pulled the strings of all reality, passing it off as an illusion (or vice versa), remained unknown to me until the very end of the film.

Create "your own reality" and make it manageable or fall into the trap of your own illusions? The film "Unknown" by Jaume Serra is about this, in which the main character becomes a puppet in the hands of "fate", although his fate is just his fiction.

How does the Jester's Mask live in everyday reality? It is proposed to try it on with the help of various technologies of "reality control" according to one's will, of course. And here the first stoppage is the lack of understanding of this will. Psychologically, the request for changes is not clear.

Many articles have been written about this phenomenon, and it is not constructive to want "money". You need to want "deeper", for example, an apartment or the love of others, in a word, what you hope to buy for this money.

That is, the fulcrum (the first part of the Magician's formula) is not finalized.

Further, not everyone and not always understands why an apartment or the love of others is needed, how will this change the reality around the person who wants it? "What is happiness, brother?" - I paraphrase the blessed memory of Bodrov.

Where is that criterion of Truth, the second point of the formula?

How to make yourself a bowl and get insight? That same unpreconditioned comprehension of truth, which is called an intuitive insight about your place in the world and your role in it?

How to govern your personal will? Not many people realize that choosing your path is always a limitation and discipline. To follow only one direction, it is required to abandon all other potential development opportunities, and this requires either strict discipline, so as not to turn to where it is "smeared with honey", or burning desire (like a shamanic disease), some obsession with an idea (divine revelation (intuitive understanding) about their "purpose").

The formal work of the Magician consists of:

“I want money because money = freedom. I will do what I want.

And this, unfortunately, immediately conflicts with the rest of the points and especially with the motive of the direction of their will. “What I want” is “all at once”, the force vector is smeared around the circle and does not direct anywhere.

We are taught what to want, imposing social criteria of truth, we are told about our purpose and even told what to do. Example:

“Be feminine and accepting, you are the keeper of the hearth and the inspirer of a man, the truth is that you have to wear“this and do this”, and for this you will receive the very money that is“freedom”.

To get it look in the mirror every morning and read the magic words. Direct your will (to reading), read every day. And you will be happy.

What kind of happiness is this? "I thought it up myself, I got offended myself." Also: I decided for another person that, for example, he loves you. But, behold, he is embarrassed to admit. Here he walks alongside, and hesitates. There is no ring on the finger, but somehow it looks "strange", and even "hello" speaks especially. You found out everything, everything about him, on all his pages of social networks, you were waiting for him to fall on his knees in front of you, you just need to read positive statements about love and put on what future brides are wearing there.

So they get into the world of illusions, trying to see its beauty on the wreckage of life. “If you cannot change reality, change your attitude towards it,” this is a comforting phrase for people who have taken the reflection of an illusion for reality.

Yes, if you believe the postulate "what is above, so below," "what is inside, so is outside", if you force yourself to accept an undesirable state of affairs as "good", it will become so in accordance with your (new) inner criterion of Truth …

How will this article help you? Just as the Tarot deck helps. Clarify the current situation in your life. To move somewhere further, you must not only have the goal of your path, but also know the starting point, the current state of affairs.

You know about archetypes and arcana, you do not know about them, this does not prevent you from living them in your life. The question is the awareness of this very life.

Perhaps you only need the other side of reality (or illusion), like the “other side of the circle”, in order to become a real Magician from the Fraud mode and change reality according to your will.
