This uncomplicated way of finding "getting rid of action and suffering" was prepared by me several years ago in preparation for one of the women's trainings, which my colleagues and I called "The Seven Roads of Femininity."

The task of the training was to try to get in touch with each of the role-playing archetypes personified in the seven ancient Greek goddesses (Hera, Demeter, Persephone, Hestia, Athena, Artemis, Aphrodite) to determine his participation / non-participation in the actual life of the participants and to “turn on” the missing energy of the archetype.

Even those who remember the above-mentioned goddesses from myths rather vaguely, probably, will understand our concern with colleagues about how to present the most "boring, uninteresting, gray" Hestia. There is no problem to interest the eternally young Persephone, emancipated by Artemis, not to mention the goddess of love and beauty Aphrodite.

Reflecting and discussing everything that we had to observe during the five hours of training, we came to the conclusion why one of the most "popular" goddesses turned out to be the one that, as it seemed to us, would not arouse keen interest among the participants. Dealing with archetypes and conducting training based on archetypal images and symbols, we, somehow succumbing to the mainstream, forgot about the most important archetype of the Shadow.

That training clearly showed how we all get tired of the Mask archetype, of the strict requirements for ourselves to be a superwoman, to participate in everything, to be in time everywhere, it is even better to succeed.

Unexpectedly, Hestia emerged from the Shadow, becoming the center, and not, as we assumed, the periphery of our event. The question arose about human survival, both spiritual and physical. The participants greeted Hestia with the honors that rightfully belonged to her, and we (and my colleagues) recovered from one-sided agnosia. It became very clear that the terminology of "role archetypes" does not describe what we are faced with. And we were faced not with a role, but with a deep need for the manifestation of the essence of the Hestia archetype.

The "goddess of a small plot", who gave way to Dionysus on Olympus, who does not fit into the narcissistic standards of our everyday life (well, the victim, neither give nor take, in the perception of some), suddenly became a figure, and not at all a background, surrounded by ideals dear to the heart.

An unrecognized, unidentified Shadow is dangerous. It is dangerous because it can suddenly turn against us all our efforts to drive her out of the paradise of her beloved masks with a hundredfold force. The nature of the Shadow and that aspect of it, which calls on a person to humble his impulses to sit on the divine Olympus, can take revenge on all of us, driving us into the kingdom of Hypnos. This can be observed in situations of increased human activity when achieving a goal, after which there is a decline in energy, indifference, and a feeling of unreality. All this can be explained in terms of energy expenditure, but such attempts only further distance us from genuine concern for the soul, which needs more than gaining energy in order to re-engage in battle. I will put an end to this. Since the purpose of this publication was to describe the method.

Depending on the situation and the specific client case, the technique works reasonably well.

Preceding a short story about Hestia. Hestia, by right of her birth, was one of the twelve major Olympians, but gave up her place on Olympus to Dionysus, the god of wine and winemaking.

She never took part in intrigues, wars, which Greek mythology abounds in. The Hestia archetype is associated with a state of consciousness tuned to its spiritual compass. This archetype is endowed with qualities that can protect a woman from chaos and banality. Hestia is not characterized by envy, jealousy, lust for power, admiration and admiration. She is not attracted by fashion, career achievements and crowds of fans. Thus, she is free from many passions and protected from torment, the source of which is the desire for possession. If you just glide over the surface of the image of Hestia, she can give the impression of being too inert and expressionless. However, her gift is subtle - it is the ability to see the majestic simplicity of every moment. Hestia's purity of perception allows her to receive guidance from within herself.

Technique

We ask the client to take a comfortable body position, relax and close her eyes.

Make sure the client is sufficiently relaxed. If tension persists, it is best to use a short relaxation technique.

Instruction

“Imagine yourself walking along the sidewalk of a busy city street. Pay attention to passers-by. Note that some of them are joyful, others are sad, the faces of others are like a mask, under which it is impossible to understand what mood this person is. Look at shop windows, advertising banners. What else is there on the street? Cars stuck in traffic? Traffic lights with sound signal? Take a look around. And move on.

Now turn and go to a quieter street, move along it slowly. Here you can meet a rare passer-by. Perhaps one of them will turn out to be your acquaintance, perhaps you will stop to talk for a few minutes, or maybe just greet each other and move on? Move on … Turn again. You find yourself in a quiet alley, at the end of which you see a temple. This is the temple of the goddess Hestia. Move towards it, inspect its majestic facade, majestic with simple austere beauty. Come to him … look at the doors of the temple, these are massive, carved wooden doors, open them, they give way easily, you enter and find yourself surrounded by complete and deep silence. Pay attention to the neatness of the carefully tidied temple. A fire burns in the center of the temple, peer into the tongues of its flame, measured and unhurried…. Sharpen your hearing, what does the silence tell you? Move towards the hearth, sit next to it and listen to its greatness. Look at the fire, feel its warmth, its light and measured burning, a calm glow, let all doubts, tearing passions, anxieties, guilt, all that does not allow you to fall asleep at night sink into it. Bring in the peace and quiet of the temple. If you are tormented by any questions, looking at the fire and listening to the silence, ask them … Listen … Be careful and do not rush to get an answer … Perhaps the answer will come in the form of an image or sensation, perhaps you will feel a light breeze touching your face, or warmth from the fire.

Perhaps you will hear the friendly voice of Hestia herself?

Let the fire burning in the temple move inside you, trace what images arise during this, which nooks of the soul are illuminated with light, and which are warmed up. Every time, when you are offended, crushed by demands or failures, tired of the hustle and bustle, you can come to the temple of Hestia. Here you are protected, here is peace and blessed peace. This is your home. Sit in this state for a few minutes and open your eyes."

A discussion follows. “Home” is the psychological goal of the journey, where we connect with the spiritual center. So, in ancient Greece, the house was a sacred place due to the presence of the hearth of Hestia there. Personal "Hestia" is a symbol of the self or the center of the personality, what we perceive as an unshakable inner core associated with a sense of wholeness. A man meets Hestia whenever he enters the sanctuary and sees a welcoming hearth. It can truly be our home, or a place where we find solitude and peace, or work, or a sacred place, or a natural landscape. Feeling that we are "at home" (regardless of time and place), we feel harmony and bliss - this is our personal myth.
