Happiness can be achieved by training the mind!

The Dalai Lama's approach to happiness relies heavily on teaching, reasoning, and training the mind. He explains that through inner discipline, we can undergo a transformation in our attitude, our worldview, and our approach to life.

✨ In Buddhism, causality is accepted as a natural law. Therefore, if there are certain types of events that you do not want in your life, then the best way to defend against the events that occur is to make sure that the causal conditions that usually cause these events do not occur.

Likewise, if there is an event that you would like it to happen, then you should look for the causes and conditions that trigger that event.

✨The same principle of causality can be applied to your mental states.

☝️If you want happiness, you must identify those factors that lead to happiness and those factors that lead to suffering. Once you've done this, you can gradually do the following:

⭐️Eliminate those factors that lead to suffering in your life.

⭐️ Develop those factors that lead to happiness.

That is, a person achieves happiness by learning which mental states should be cultivated and which ones to eliminate, and then making constant efforts to realize this knowledge.

✨The Dalai Lama explains that self-education focused precisely on understanding and applying the factors that lead to lasting happiness is critical, because the deeper you know about what really leads to happiness and what does not, the more effective you will be at achieving happiness.

Here are three ways the Dalai Lama recommends to develop happiness:

Train your mind to accept happiness

Change your perspective

Develop Compassion and Altruism
