My opinion now will be very out of line. But I work with people and see what is happening. I have observed these processes before, but now, when they have closely touched me and my country, for the first time I experienced them personally. What to do, your shirt is not only closer to the body, but also, the only one, is rubbing in the armhole

The world is on fire. We have troubled times. Tragic. Unique. And far from the first in human history. Of course, the situation is unique: a few idiots can destroy the entire planet. But it probably doesn't differ much from the personal feelings of every citizen of destroyed peoples, even burned cities and carved villages of the past. And so far we are still alive, here and now.

People survive in battles, survive in cataclysms and terrorist attacks. They lose their neighbors, put up resistance, save, protect and remain in the ruins of past dreams and hopes. However, this is how it happens with severe injuries. And almost every time a whole nation suffers from an irreparable catastrophe, the whole planet sees it. The neighbors, and now much of the world, are reacting and even coming to the rescue. However, the nature of aid has changed fundamentally over the past 20-25 years. Thanks to advanced media technologies, humanitarian aid has become more attractive from a PR point of view in the eyes of the entire globe. This does not mean that she is being rendered with some unclean thoughts. She just began to bring more fame, which in wealthy social circles means much more than money.

And away we go. Once upon a time, in the 90s, preachers of all stripes poured into the country. And even those of them who sincerely carried their faith and were not motivated by mercantile interests, nevertheless, realized themselves in the rise above the poor, mournful savages - us, that is. Their main audience was - people who suffered material, physical, personal damage in the process of breaking the society. And there was nothing wrong with that. But over time, a trick emerged: frightened, confused, weakened and lost orientation people had to remain so, otherwise the purpose and meaning of the missions would disappear, and with them the role of the missionary himself would be overthrown. And many missionaries understood this very well, and, of course, made efforts to preserve the status quo. And families continued to collapse; the issues necessary for survival in the new conditions were postponed indefinitely; children grew up unattended; respected old people died alone - I saw it with my own eyes.

Missionaries are not that popular these days. They were replaced by paramedics, humanitarian development teams for some unknown reason, and, to our deepest regret, fellow psychotherapists. This, too, did not happen yesterday.

Just 15 years ago, after the terrible tsunami in Indonesia, everyone rushed there to help with words and sympathy - and clogged the roads to a complete collapse. Activity was in full swing, families who had lost their poor homes were given the opportunity to express grief, discuss it in groups, ask for help … Only there was critically little real help. Yes, food and medicine were transported, yes, they were distributed somehow, where it was convenient to get with a TV camera. Nobody thought about the tools and workplaces for the people who had lost everything. The assistants were already busy and received their fair share of praise. The rest had to be done by someone else. It just wasn't their job. But because of their abundance, the situation with the help looked very favorable. Perhaps that is why the Japanese with their Fukushima prudently kept silent, believing that it is better to cope with their misfortune on their own, rather than provide a field for worldwide PR on mercy and thus further complicate the situation. And most importantly, to expose your own people to the temptation to become sick, poor and weak in the hope of help that will never come.

Now a similar story is happening with us. Helping organizations are accountable as hard as they can. Deep, deepest concern is also considered a serious help. Almost the entire population of the country is recognized as almost incompetent, because it is experiencing trauma. And every month you can count dozens of new and new specialists who have come to lecture on working with trauma, on dealing with trauma survivors … Recently I read an article by a famous journalist who said bluntly: don't try to help trauma survivors. Your job is to tactfully interview and get attention. That's great, just whose attention?

I don't know if my colleagues noticed: there are so many who want to teach them, instruct them, put them in a circle and make them listen. And there are so few of those who in two years asked: you, field workers, who have known fire and water, what discoveries have you made? Would you like to streamline your experience? Tell about it in our still prosperous countries? I think doctors can share similar observations. It’s illogical, isn’t it? It depends on what kind of logic.

The countries of the world help us with word, word, word, study and a little - with medication. This format of help requires people who are insecure, scared, sick, unable to survive a severe trauma, but capable only of surviving in it, constantly complaining, angry, crying …

Have you noticed, my dears, how fashionable it has become with us to talk about your sobs in social networks?

It is absolutely necessary to survive the trauma, to talk about your grief, to mourn it. But now it is no longer the experience of trauma. This is induction, mass hysteria. We don't need her. We are a strong, healthy nation that has managed to survive the most terrible tragedies. Yes, they really have been deposited in generations. And their consequences really need to be equalized and reigned. But not to survive, but to make life better. Do you feel the difference? We are not helpless, we don’t have to give thanks for every show of attention, and we don’t have to cry out loud to receive it.

Yes, we see and experience terrible things, a real shock. Yes, our society has just now entered the next stage of depression. Yes, we have experienced grief, shock and loneliness. But humans are amazingly resilient creatures. And if the trauma suddenly becomes attractive to you, if you want to describe its scale over and over again, to paralyze in anger and grief, to measure your own and someone else's tragedy, instead of restoring your normal life, drive it away. It is not the trauma in you that speaks, believe me.

Teachers, huggers, interviewers, kind, kind-hearted people will take an interest in a new object of help and fly away first there, and then to tell their families how gloriously they have worked. And we should stay here. Build your life. Protect your own and children's safety. Finally, develop their cities and villages. And for this we do not need hysterics, but a healthy psyche, reasonable behavior, a calm attitude to life. And equal respect for oneself, for one's own experience and achievements gained during the period of national grief. And if someone wants to provide support in equal cooperation - well, of course.

It is with this attitude that it is good to treat injuries, do you understand? Treat, not pick.
