In psychosomatics studies, the main cause of atopic dermatitis in children is the separation between mother and child, lack of physical intimacy between mother and child.

Malkina-Pykh [1] writes that an analysis of the personal history of a patient with a skin disease can reveal an early deficit in the body and sensations. The mother may be described as not giving warm enough, rejecting the child, and the father, likewise, as not giving the child enough time.

RG Hamer [2] writes that during the conflict of separation (the child is separated for a while with the mother), loss of physical contact with the mother, with the family, “skin ulcers form that cannot be detected macroscopically”. After re-establishing contact with the mother, "tissue regeneration occurs: the skin swells, becomes red, hot and itches (itching) … The skin seems sore, but it actually heals." If the conflict of separation has lasted for a long time, then the healing phase can be long.

Gilbert Renaud [3] confirms that at the heart of all skin diseases lies the conflict of separation, feelings of being left alone.

Mothers consulted about atopic dermatitis in children, who reported that they spend a lot of time with their children, and there were no visible conflicts of separation with the child in their families.

Nevertheless, the separation from the child in several mothers was revealed at the unconscious level when using psychotechnologies for working with the unconscious of the psychotherapeutic modality "Integral neuroprogramming" by S. V. Kovalev.

Case 1

Female, 25 years old, reports atopic dermatitis to her daughter (5 years old) starting at 6 months. He says that he practically cannot leave the child. The girl does not go to the garden, because she cannot bear even a short absence of her mother.

It is obvious that the child is constantly afraid of breaking up with his mother. However, despite the fact that mom is present all the time, atopic dermatitis is common throughout the body. This means that separation from the mother still occurs.

I ask the woman to find in the office space (using the spatial code of the unconscious) a place where she would place herself by placing a marker. And a place where she would place her daughter. The distance between mother and daughter is about one and a half meters. The daughter is to the right. One and a half meters in the personal space between the mother and the not yet adult child indicates that the mother unconsciously alienates her daughter from herself. And the woman confirms that, despite the fact that she is always with the child, she is tired of the obligation to be with her daughter all the time and wants to alienate her. Visualization of the child's image showed that the child feels tense at such a distance and is eager to get closer to the mother.

I ask when this happened - placing the child at such a distance in personal space. To her surprise, the woman realizes that this separation did not occur recently, but several months after the birth of the child (around then atopic dermatitis manifested itself).

When asked what, in her opinion, served this, the woman replied that she felt bound by constant obligations, she felt the impossibility of going about her business, work. It was then that she unconsciously began to resist the constant stay with the child, removing her daughter in the unconscious from herself, in fact, being around all the time.

Often, awareness of unconscious processes is enough to change the images in the unconscious.

Almost immediately, the woman in her personal space brought her daughter closer, and she began to be at arm's length. When visualizing the image of her daughter, the woman saw that the child is relaxed and does not feel discomfort.

At the next consultation, the woman reported that the manifestations of atopic dermatitis became less, the itching decreased, the child became less capricious, less demanding the presence of the mother.

Case 2

Woman, 35 years old, girl, 3, 5 years old with atopic dermatitis, starting from the 2nd month.

After asking to determine the place of the child in space, the woman placed him next to her at arm's length. However, she instantly said that the child in her visualization is in a transparent cocoon, which does not allow getting close to the child. When asked who created this cocoon, the woman replied that it was she who created it, because, as she now understands, looking at this cocoon, she unconsciously rejects the child.

Next, it was necessary to study the cocoon in detail: what is it made of, what is its texture to the touch, warm or cold, stands or rotates, and so on. The more the client determines the characteristics of the visualized object, the better and more effectively he is involved in unconscious processes.

The cocoon was motionless, cold and rough. When asked if a woman had ever experienced such sensations, she immediately replied that she experienced similar sensations when communicating with her mother.

When I asked if it turns out that subconsciously, the woman perceived her daughter as her mother and tried to separate from her in a cocoon, the woman answered in the affirmative. A similar “substitution” was encountered repeatedly in other cases, when instead of the child, a mother was suddenly visualized, with whom there was a tense relationship, after which it became clear why irritation was initially established in relation to the child.

Psychotherapeutic work was carried out with the woman to transform resentment, irritation at the mother. A psychotechnology was carried out to return to the most dramatic and traumatic moments with the mother, in which a woman, as a child, received all the necessary resources of love and peace, realized what was happening anew from a different angle, transformed the accumulated insults within herself.

The result of the work was the "dissolution" of the cocoon around the child, awareness of the child as a separate person, acceptance of the child, establishment of connections with the child.

After psychotherapeutic work for several days, the manifestations of dermatitis have significantly decreased.

Case 3

Woman, 34 years old, girl, 5 months, atopic dermatitis almost from birth.

In parallel with the complaint of atopic dermatitis, the mother reported that she experienced severe irritation in relation to the crying of the child. He literally pisses her off, she feels completely helpless. At the same time, the only desire is to go somewhere, to run away, to hide from the "whims" of the child.

At my request, the woman presented her part - an independent unit of consciousness [4] - which reacts to the cry of the child. It turned out to be a 6-7 year old girl who is terrified that she needs to do something with a small child. The girl's mother realized that she does not act from the position of an adult in communicating with the child, and therefore she is not comfortable and even scared to interact with her daughter.

In the process of psychotherapy, we determined what prevented the inner girl from growing up and what she lacked for growing up, resourced the inner child, gave him the opportunity to grow up, formed the inner adult. After the therapy, the woman felt that she did not feel fear when communicating with her daughter, now she does not need to "run away" from her. After a few days, the manifestations of atopic dermatitis in the child decreased.
