Everyone gets into a situation of lack of motivation. For a variety of reasons - from the loss of a goal to the loss of self-satisfaction. And in such moments, it is important to be able to strengthen / increase your motivation.
Today I propose to deal with a motivator that uses a paradoxical intention, a paradoxical intention as a kind of driver of influence on you. Moreover, specifically the paradoxical intention of the time factor.
Illustrating. At the moment when we postpone this or that business, we almost automatically begin to manipulate time. In the format:
- I don't want to do it now (right now)
- I will do it later (sometime later, after a while)
- let's do something else now (maybe even something specific)
I.e. We can conclude that playing over time allows us to give ourselves some kind of inner permission not to do our business right now. And this very illusion of time management (it seems like we are free to dispose of our time) allows you to procrastinate for as long as you like.
This is why the now-or-never recipe invites you to focus your attention on the following message when you procrastinate:
Or I'm starting to do the chosen business right now. Or I will never do it at all.
I.e. Since you can easily manipulate time against yourself, then you can manipulate time in your favor. The main thing is to follow the following principles:
BUT) Visualization of the results of refusal to do business forever … That is, it is important for you to see what will happen if the current job is never done. What will be the consequences, what will you lose, what will you lose. Moreover, it is important not so much to think and analyze as to generate 1-2-3 specific pictures, images that would reflect the consequences of such a step.
B) Emotionality … Well, or more clearly formulating - rigidity. It is important for you to be tough, really determined to take risks and delete some business from your life. The more seriously you take such a rarely irresponsible step, the better this motivator works.
IN) Preparedness for the unexpected … And here is the most interesting thing. More than once I noticed for myself that using the motivator “now or never” led to an unexpected conclusion - I won't do it, and to hell with it. That is, this motivator can tell you about your mistake. That you have attached excessive importance to the matter, which does not even reflect your real needs and desires.
Try it!
