What gives the client and the coach the conclusion of an agreement / contract for joint work?

A well thought out and negotiated contract between the client and the coach has many characteristics.

Here are the main ones:

- Participants consciously and deliberately, at their own request, take part in the coaching process

(The client does not always come to the coach on his own initiative. Desire and initiative, after all, are different things and often come from different people:))

- Decisions and actions in coaching are made voluntarily, which leads to constructiveness and motivation in working together

- The boundaries and roles of the coach and the client are preserved.

And this, in turn, protects against unnecessary transfers, identifications, projections.

- Manipulations, hidden and distorted meanings, secret agreements are prevented

- Due to balanced, deliberate, realistic and written expectations, it is most often possible to exclude mutual reproaches and displeasure from the process or result of interaction

- The main goal or task of working together in this coaching program is kept in sight

What form can a coaching contract be?

There are various situations, problems and tasks in the work, respectively, a variety of documents and agreements that provide and maintain them.

For example:

The coaching interaction contract in genera

Session contract (concluded for each session, most often - orally

Oral agreemen

Written contract (document

Contract with a coach, consultan

Contract with yoursel

Bilateral contrac

Multilateral contrac

(if the agreements involve three or more parties. Most often, such a contract is concluded in organizations where the client and the customer are different people

What clauses can a contract include?

- What services will be provided to the client, and in what form (in person, remotely)

- What principles will the coach be guided by in his work?

- How the interaction will take place, and what methods will be used in the coaching process

- Time frame of the coaching program and each individual session - How will the responsibility for the results of the work be divided

- Terms of extension / termination of the contract

- Financial conditions - Details of the parties, etc.

What needs to be considered for your contract to work?

For myself, I have deduced several basic rules that I try to adhere to in my work all the time.

This helps to achieve results in coaching sessions of various orientations, with different customers and clients.

Be sure to check if you mean the same thing when phrasing - both the coach and the client

There is a joke that a person thinks one thing, says another, writes a third, means the fourth, but wants something in general:)

To prevent this from happening in the coaching process, be sure to make it clear if both parties have the same understanding of the same point.

The contract must be developed in partnershi

The principles and conditions of your contract should be in the sphere of desires of each of the participants

In this case, there will be no resistance or ignorance in joint work.

The contract must be realistic and doable for all involve

This rule will help maintain inspiration and a positive attitude in the process, the joint work will not cause objections, and the result will make sense.

Each agreement must have a time frame, otherwise sooner or later it will lose its meaning, relevance, value

Coaching contracts are no exception. It is concluded for a certain period of time, after which the results are summed up and the contract is closed, or extended, if there is a need for it.
