In this article, I want to touch on the topic of drug addiction. Recently, girls often turn to me with the following problem: my husband uses drugs, what should I do?

The situation is quite difficult. And here it is impossible to say exactly WHAT TO DO.

To begin with, reassure yourself that there are no hopeless situations, there are USEFUL ones. When my life gives me a lesson!

Much depends on what exactly is going on in your relationship:

Are you married

In civil cohabitation

Do you have common children

What exactly happens to your man - a breakdown, a series of breakdowns, a long period of use …

One of these determining factors in decision-making is the partner's position - DOES HE WANT TO CHANGE HIS LIFE.

Does he agree to treatment, psychotherapy, does he want to take responsibility, is his family IMPORTANT to him? The fact that a loving, caring woman NEEDS him is natural. But is it IMPORTANT? !! Is the relationship valuable?

If he tells you that he is not going to quit drugs, the decision is one - to quit. To parents, to girlfriends, to rental housing, wherever. Until the swamp of codependency finally sucks you in. Believe me, this is a very difficult situation, and the longer you are in it, the more difficult it will be to get out of this relationship!

Yes, you did not choose such a man by chance. You have certain traits that attract the addict, and he is attracted to you codependent traits. BUT this does not mean that nothing can be changed. CAN! The sooner you turn to specialists, the more happy days await you ahead.

If you are reading this article, you are probably in a very difficult situation, it is hard and scary for you.

The first thing to start with is to admit to yourself, HONESTLY, THAT:

I CAN'T SAVE HIM, THIS IS HIS LIFE.

BUT I CAN SAVE MYSELF! AND YOUR CHILDREN.

My life is in my hands.

To get support, it's important to ask for it!

Call the helplines in your city, they are on the Internet!

Look for a psychologist to help you, to whom you feel trust, go to groups for codependents!

Take responsibility for your life, don't let it go! Don't wait tomorrow, YOU HAVE TODAY, YOU HAVE ONE TODAY! Don't waste it!

You can ask me for help, I work with girls who find themselves in such a situation.

Immediately after reading, you can start changing your life!

Start by answering the questions honestly:

- what do I get in this relationship?

- Why do I need this person?

- can I leave?

- what happens if I leave?

- what won't happen if I leave?

- what can I change?

- what am I unable to change?

There is a chance to keep the relationship. Everyone is different. If both a drug addict and his wife or girlfriend apply for help, then both the chances increase!

You are not to blame for your grief

You didn't choose the family you grew up in

You did not choose the features of upbringing in your family

You have adapted to this life as best you can

You do not want anyone to harm, you just do not know what to do, how it will be better

It's just important for you to be needed, desired, happy

And you are very strong! You know that!
