At first glance at the situation, it may seem that everything is simple: "If you want to lose weight, eat less." But a detailed study of the problem led me to the fact that I decided to devote a separate article to it, where I described this topic in detail like no one else had before.

Speaking about adequate and inadequate self-perception, I want to mention such diseases as anorexia and bulimia.

  • Anorexia. It is found among very slender girls with an upset self-perception (under the influence of personal traumas, popularization of thinness in the media, etc., envy of a slimmer girlfriend, etc.). It is accompanied by the development of dependence on control over weight and body proportions. Such a woman can weigh herself and measure herself 10 times a day.
  • Bulimia. It is a nervous breed disorder that manifests itself in the form of uncontrolled food intake. At the same time, a person actively seeks to correct the situation, induces vomiting after eating, resorts to hunger strikes, tortures his body with increased physical exertion.

PHYSIOLOGY OF EXCESS WEIGHT

From this point of view, several factors affect the appearance of excess weight, as well as the problematicness of getting rid of it:

Age changes … So, with age, a person's metabolism slows down, so the metabolism slows down. That is why it is better to take care of your body from a young age - in old age it will be much more difficult to defeat excess weight, which becomes a provocateur of a number of serious diseases.

Hormonal Disorders. Disruption of the normal production of a number of hormones caused by diseases (including the thyroid gland), pregnancy, adolescence, taking certain medications, leads to excess weight. Below I will briefly describe what these hormones are:

  • Cortisol and adrenaline. The so-called "stress" hormones, the lack of which provokes an unhealthy appetite.
  • Testosterone … Its deficiency prevents the development of muscle mass, even with intense training.
  • Leptin and ghrelin … They have an effect on the centers of the brain that are responsible for satiety and hunger.
  • Estrogen. Both lack and excess production of this hormone can provoke excess weight.
  • Speksin. It takes part in energy metabolism and influences the process of accumulation of fatty mass by the body.

PSYCHOLOGY OF EXCESS WEIGHT

The inclusion of mechanisms for gaining mass in the head can occur consciously and unconsciously. And there are many psychological reasons for this.

Systems. The problem may lie in childhood and adolescent trauma, birth scenarios, past reincarnations of the soul with tainted karma, parental attitudes, patterns and patterns. In modern times, there are also situations associated with fear, uncertainty about the future (for example, if a person got out of poverty into a good life, or, conversely, ended up on the sidelines of life).

Gastronomic "addiction". As a rule, food rich in flavor enhancers, which are easy to get hooked on, as well as sweets - high-calorie food, but activating the production of hormones responsible for joy and pleasure in the body, acts as a "drug". But it is important not only what we eat, but why we eat it. And here a whole complex of reasons can be involved. Let's take a closer look:

  • PLEASURE. A woman does not receive pleasure in life (there is no opportunity or time), therefore, she causes a state of pleasure through food. Such is the substitution.
  • STRESS. A bunch of unresolved problems and often repeated stress - one of the frequent provocateurs of food "addiction". Delicious and sweet allows you to forget about everything, switch, forcing the brain to work not on situations, but on the digestion of food.
  • SUPPRESSED FEELINGS. It happens very often when negative feelings arise and a woman, for example, cannot or does not want to feel them, she begins to eat, the food seems to fill and suppress the feelings.
  • RELATIONSHIP TO YOURSELF. For example, hatred, lack of care and love towards oneself. Then food becomes a catalyst for self-destruction, especially uninvolved food. Since if a woman loves herself, takes care of herself, she will never put filth in her body, and even in large quantities.
  • LACK OF ENERGY. It often happens that there is not enough energy for some reason, or it does not flow as much as necessary, or it goes to someone or something. Then the woman begins to accumulate energy with food.
  • DEPRESSIVE STATE OR DEPRESSION. Food can become as a temporary salvation from this state, here and escape from stress and receive temporary pleasure.
  • EMOTIONALITY. When a woman is emotional, she spends a lot of energy, she has to restore it with food.
  • SUPPRESSED FEELINGS. Let's imagine that feelings are water and a woman's body is a balloon. When water is not released from the balloon, but it accumulates, the balloon swells. Lifestyle. People engaged in mental work are often deficient in a number of nutrients. But they do not have time to delve into the jungle of the needs of their own body, so they simply satisfy their hunger with what comes to hand. Those who work hard physically also seek to make up for the lack of energy from not the healthiest food.

One more point. Often, the acquisition of the habit of eating the wrong food is facilitated by the "rituals" of meeting friends and girlfriends in cafes, the inability or unwillingness to cook homemade food, and the need to eat in restaurants.

Secondary benefits. A person who is not noticed wants to somehow stand out, show himself. And excess weight becomes such an imaginary "medicine" for him. A solid weight is perceived as an analogue of authority, assertiveness ("rushing like a tank"), significance, well-being, financial stability. Again, the sayings “there should be a lot of a good person” and “the husband is not a dog, he will not throw himself on the dice” encourages many women to eat “from the belly” in order to seem kind for everyone and the best for a partner. Also, excess weight can be "beneficial" in many other cases when you need:

  • protect myself from humiliation and attacks (if I am big, no one will touch me);
  • to calm down a jealous husband (if I am fat, no one will look at me, and he will stop showing aggression, and if there are no reasons for constant conflicts, he will not leave me);
  • justify my failures in life (I can't find a good job because I'm fat, not because I'm lazy, lacking in initiative and irresponsible);
  • hide from responsibility;
  • to be noticed, to receive care and compassion (perhaps the child was not noticed in childhood, paid little attention, and he wanted to become more "noticeable" and at the same time, so that there was something to regret);
  • forget about yourself, helping others (a woman experiences a strong sense of uselessness and insignificance and with the help of excess weight runs away from this "oppression", devoting her life to serving other people);
  • correspond to her hypertrophied feminist ideals (a woman strives for masculinity not only in behavior, character, work, but also in appearance, she literally tries to become a stronger sex, a big person).
