Reflecting on the text of this article, I wanted to design some good folding introduction in order to smoothly, carefully, approach the disclosure of the essence of thought, which has been occupying my brain for several months. But now nothing but the exclamation “We are in danger!” Comes to mind. Men are in danger! Masculinity is in danger! In the modern information space, everything male is in a state of cold war, and it is rather difficult to pinpoint the enemy, since attacks occur from many directions. And here, perhaps, it takes some courage to write about it.

To begin with, masculinity is generally a very fragile thing. Unlike femininity and femininity in general, it is acquired not thanks to, but in spite of. Nature itself conceived the human body initially as a female, and only a set of certain factors, each manifesting in its own time, makes a man's body out of it. First, the small, broken Y chromosome has to set off a "wave of opposition" to the much more massive X chromosome to kick-start this process. Then the hormone testosterone should trigger the development of the fetus and its brain in the male direction. After birth, the first object of affection for a boy is his mother (woman), with whom he is psychologically fused, absolutely dependent on her, and she can easily become someone with whom one can identify. Therefore, even at the most fragile age, a little boy needs to start moving in the direction of his mother's skirt in order to realize and assert his difference from girls. Then, in adolescence, he must not allow himself to succumb to the "reverse attraction" and protest against maternal custody. And during all this time, keep the father in focus as a figure that, being in close proximity to the female, continues to be something different, unfeminine. There are so many risk factors in this process, which in fact can be safely called a protest - a movement against, a movement from. Therefore, initially, the understanding of masculinity is reduced, rather, to the fact that it is not femininity, that a man is not a woman. But what kind of man, what should this masculinity be? - A man has probably been answering these questions all his life. Unless, of course, he is led astray.

And who is knocking down? It seems to suggest that the enemy of masculinity is femininity? No matter how it is. Let's see where the attacks on masculinity come from.

Sometimes it's feminism. After all, modern feminism at times gets confused in its slogans, when equality in an incomprehensible way is replaced by equality, especially in the mainstream of lesbian activism. But, excuse me, what kind of equality can there be if men and women are different in their genetics, anatomy, physiology and psychology ?! We can be equalized only if, in some magical way, the Y chromosome is replaced by X in the uterus. Although some are trying to embody this "equality", minimizing the external manifestations of sex (androgyny) or, conversely, increasing the signs of the opposite sex (female bodybuilders, travesty divas), the difference in primary sex characteristics is not easy to level (someone crosses this section, but that's another topic). Still, it's not worth talking about all of feminism, because many of its supporters remain committed to the idea of equal rights, equal opportunities, and not equal anatomy.

Sometimes it's gay activism. After all, from here the idea of equality flies in. But if you take a closer look at the entire subculture, and not just at the top of activism, then the picture is exactly the opposite. Many gays, on the contrary, diligently emphasize their masculinity and look for the same partners, denying and alienating those whom they consider feminine. Many are overwhelmed with doubts about their masculinity and try to find their own individual way to affirm it, thus showing that femininity is not the goal of a gay man. Gay is a man who prefers men, there is little place for femininity. This is also a mostly male culture, just with its own characteristics. As for the travesty actors, the caricatured image of a woman, which they demonstrate from the stage, clearly shows the true unconscious attitude towards a woman. Here, rather, a denial of femininity than her inheritance. Therefore, gay culture is not particularly an enemy of masculinity.

Sometimes it's haute couture. Recently, many haute couture designers have brought creations to the catwalks, in which it is difficult to see men. Only facial features, kneecaps and vegetation on the limbs give out in them the representatives of the male sex, carefully covered with robes, which, rather, deny this belonging, rather than emphasize it. Of course, this is a flight of fantasy, of course, this is the self-expression of fashion masters, of course, and the Scots wear skirts, but a white wedding dress is already a transsexual (through-sex) flight, which makes one wonder: where did the man go under the dress? But after all, not all fashion dresses beautiful men's legs in skirts (just like a man's legs), nevertheless, trousers are sewn for this beauty.

It seems to me that it is not movements, not phenomena, not subcultures as a whole that attack masculinity, but their individual representatives who have poured into these currents in order to somehow cope with their inner damaged feeling of masculinity or femininity. The violent pressure of some lesbian feminists may be rooted in an unconscious envy of everything masculine, which pushes them to seek personal triumph over the image of a man. The attacks by some gay activists on categorical masculinity and exceptional heterosexuality may stem from a deep inner resentment at a long-standing rejection by a significant male figure who might have sustained their germs of masculinity, but did not. And it turns out that the main enemy of masculinity is not femininity, but pseudo-masculinity - as an attempt to get away from your femininity or to come to terms with the rejection of men in the world.

And femininity has no war in relations with masculinity, as well as vice versa. It is simply not so easy to understand this in an atmosphere of artificially whipped up confrontation.
