What to do about it?

The question is important and very voluminous, and, unfortunately, there is no short answer to it. But the state of "I don't want to do anything" can be dealt with.

Find 30 minutes of free time for yourself when no one will bother you. Sit comfortably, take three deep breaths in and out, and follow the next three steps.

Step one - remember when it all started

Ask yourself the question: how long have I been in a state where I don't feel like doing anything? A week, a month, a year? Or maybe you have been living in such a regime for a long time that it is even difficult to remember when it all began? Then imagine watching in reverse order a movie called "My Life" until the moment after which the vital energy began to fade. What happened then? What exactly influenced you so much?

Step two is honesty and deep self-acceptance

Admit to yourself that you are in a state of "I do not want to do anything" and that this state has not passed in a day or two. Admit to yourself that this is a difficult condition and it is really difficult for you to carry out even ordinary daily activities. Admit to yourself that this is not a comfortable state and it is difficult to be productive in it. It is advisable to go to the mirror and, looking into your eyes, make this confession. State that you accept yourself in this state.

Be patient, condescending, and supportive of yourself. If this state has appeared in your life and remains in it for a long period of time, then this is an important signal that something needs to be changed in your life.

Being honest with yourself and deeply accepting yourself are important steps in solving many psychological problems.

Step three is self-observation

Begin to observe exactly how you manifest "I do not want to do anything."

  • How does your body feel: are you more often cold than hot, or vice versa, do you feel more tired, do you have more frequent headaches?
  • How do you usually breathe: fast, calmly, or freeze from time to time and stop breathing?
  • What makes you happy? What's upsetting?
  • How has your behavior at work, with friends, in your family changed since the moment when you “don't want to do anything”? Do you have new patterns of behavior?
  • Remember how you were before the state of "I do not want to do anything," compare yourself then and now. What changed?

conclusions

Most often, stress and psychological micro-traumas lead us to the state of "I do not want to do anything". And they, in turn, can lead to depression and procrastination, the consequences of which, as a rule, are unwillingness to do something. This is a difficult state in which it may seem that you are hung with heavy stones and cannot even budge.

In order to gradually begin to get out of the state of "I do not want to do anything", follow three steps:

1) Remember when it all started;

2) Be honest with yourself and give yourself deep acceptance in this state;

3) Observe exactly how you manifest “I don’t want to do anything” at the level of the rear, thoughts, contacts, activities.

I regularly hear that in the state of "I do not want to do anything" there is almost no strength for anything. And even the most elementary exercises, which can alleviate the condition, cause resistance, because there is no strength. Well, if you have been in a state of “I don’t want to do anything” for a long time and there is no strength to get out of it on your own, and previous attempts did not lead to the desired result, then do not delay, contact a psychologist. The longer you do not seek help from a specialist, the more you aggravate the situation. I know this well from my own experience and from the experience of my clients. What happens when you delay "treatment"? Not only do you become even more weak, during this time you also lose faith that anyone or anything can help you at all. Therefore, if you have not been able to get out of the state of "I do not want to do anything" for a long time, help yourself - contact a psychologist.

I wish you strength and inspiration! 😇
