What is the difference between loving an infant and loving a teenager? How to love your teenager?
Parents are often unhappy with the actions of their grown children. And they feel that they are upset with how everything went in life …
Why does this happen? Often this is about the expectations of parents from children - after all, they "grow" like mushrooms after rain, starting from the day of discharge from the hospital.
But no one knows who the newborn will grow up to be?
And now ideas about who their baby will be are beginning to multiply in the minds of parents.
Time goes by … and the child grows … but hopes never come true …
As a psychologist, I know how hard it is for parents, they often say in offense at consultations: I put everything in him (her) and he ???
Parents! Think about it! Let your child change, become a clumsy, sometimes bad-smelling teenager, with an incomprehensible hairstyle, a mess in the room and laziness, but in his heart he is still your little favorite ball of happiness !! And this "little bundle" that has grown so much needs parental unconditional love !! How is it in the hospital! Just for being born, just for living !!
The teenager remembers that your love in the hospital! Remembers! And he does not understand why now, in order for his Parents to love him, he has to do something: to study perfectly well, to get carried away with what someone wants for him, to love whoever they say, to dress the way they want him to … and much more. what his parents demand of him … ⠀
As if the parents confirm themselves, with the life and success of their sons and daughters, and as if “proving” to everyone that in general I myself did not succeed, but my son (daughter) - they will do everything that I could not. And at least a little bit will reduce my feeling of loneliness, powerlessness, self-esteem and many others …
And if a child has become a teenager and suddenly refuses to do what the parents want, then the parents of such a teenager seem to have nothing to love
Parents, think about it!
A teenager lives his own life, fulfills his mission, and often his rebellion is a demand for the freedom of choice that all people on the planet deserve.
