Many people remember from childhood the unpretentious stories about Winnie the Pooh and especially the Soviet cartoon with unique humor. And even, seen later, the Disney version seemed flat in comparison with the domestic one.

I confess for me this tale was about nothing. Well, the boy has a rich imagination, funny toys and a lot of time without parents. What am I missing?

The 2018 Christopher Robin film helped me understand the characters in this tale differently.

So, the main acting toys of the English version: Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore Donkey, Tigric, Rabbit, Owl and Kanga with Little Roo. Almost everyone had toy prototypes. What qualities are characteristic for each?

In the film, Vinnie turned out to be, as in all versions, a silly, direct, funny bear, always looking for honey. Pooh admits his stupidity, is in no hurry, he is not ashamed of anyone. He knows what he wants and lives "here and now".

Piglet, he is a piglet, is always afraid of everything, this is a small, defenseless creature. The piglet is not sure of himself, he constantly experiences anxiety and fear. In the Soviet version, he was even armed.

Eeyore's donkey is characterized by sadness, melancholy and decadence. Everyone is familiar with these depressing feelings. Especially on your birthday.

Tigger, not deservedly missed from the fairy tale by Soyuzmultfilm, is the embodiment of courage, bragging and self-confidence. Hyperactivity and minimum efficiency.

It is interesting that the next two heroes - Rabbit and Owl did not have toy prototypes and Allan Milne had to invent them.

They are the embodiment of the mature psychological defenses of Rationalization and Intellectualization. Rabbit - control and common sense. Owl - knowledge and wisdom.

In a fairy tale, they play the role of adults.

Well, Kanga with Little Roo is the image of a child and a mother. Relationship with mom and feeling like her continuation of Kanga + Ru. They symbolize the feeling of basic trust formed by unconditional motherly love.

In many ways, all these heroes contradict each other, they are diametrically opposed. But this is rather a set of subpersonalities of the main character. They are all in the soul of Christopher Robin and most likely the author. I also found them at home.

It is easier to live when you realize that it is not necessary to always keep everything under control, like the Rabbit, you can also be Winnie the Pooh. You can be afraid, like Piglet, be sad in the style of an Eeyore donkey, or sometimes be a boastful Tiger. You can take all this in yourself and live like Vinnie here and now.

The tale is beautiful, imaginative and psychotherapeutic. Cinema is interesting, life-changing.
