Repressed feelings and experiences, to one degree or another, are present in every person. Repression is one of the mechanisms of a person's psychological defense, an unconscious mechanism. At some point in a person's life, events took place that were then very difficult for his psyche to cope with. And repression is like a variant of blocking the experiences associated with this very event.

The first question to ask yourself is: What feelings do you most often repress? What feelings do you think are bad or ugly? What feelings do you think shouldn't be shown? There are at least three.

At the next stage in the analysis of repression as a mechanism of psychological defense, one should reflect on the following questions:

- In your opinion, what does the repression of anger, aggression or anger lead to?

- What will the displacement of envy lead to? What are the positive and negative aspects of this process? What are the consequences if I do not admit that I envy someone? Likewise with anger and anger - where will this lead?

The last feeling worth working out in such detail is tenderness:

- What are the consequences if I supplant tenderness?

- What will happen if I do not admit that I feel tenderness or would like to experience tenderness for someone?

For a better study of this mechanism of psychological defense, it is worth visualizing the situations in which you experience the corresponding feelings and analyzing the possible consequences.
