Why think negative thoughts naturally and naturally, but make an effort to think positive thoughts?

Negative thinking is as addictive as alcohol, drugs and cigarettes. We practice it so often, without realizing it, that ideally, with the diligence of a master, we hone our skills in negative thinking.

Addiction to negative thoughts is one of the most common addictions in modern humans.

In the process of growing up, the adults around us put programs and attitudes in our heads. At the current stage of development of society, most of these programs are focused on physical survival and satisfaction of basic needs. We compete with other people in the firm belief that the planet's resources are limited. We put the bridle of control over our own lives in the hands of another person and worry about being good husbands and wives, driven by the motivation to NOT BE abandoned. We play the role of a victim because it is the only known way for us to gain approval and support.

At the level of the brain, the neurons through which our brain interprets thoughts are connected into grooves and pathways. Observe: the same mental chains are thought by us from day to day. There is very little creativity and innovation in the thinking process of most of us: basically the mental patterns are the same, with minor adjustments depending on the situation we are living in.

Trying to think positively feels like an effort because any destructive habit requires careful attention and awareness in the process of moving to a new level of life. In the same way, negative thoughts, reproduced on autopilot, lead the ship of our life history to inevitable wreck. Consciously assuming the role of captain of the ship and changing course is the personal strength of each, without exception, person.

How to start feeling good right now?

Allow yourself to feel exactly how you feel at the moment. Make a conscious choice to acknowledge the presence of exactly the feeling that is perceived as negative. To give this feeling … to speak out.

Throughout our life, from early childhood and into adulthood, all our attention is directed to MAKE ourselves feel one way or another. The inability to feel joy when sad, or to be interested when bored, exacerbates the bitterness of existence. The truth is that our emotions are an amazing feedback mechanism that shows us where we are in relation to our life purpose.

If you strive to be a wealthy person, worrying about money will feel like an unnatural feeling to you. At the emotional level, this feeling will be interpreted as negative.

It seems to us that if we allow ourselves to experience an emotion, it will cause a hurricane of similar emotions. We think that this hurricane will rip our roof off, pick up the lovingly built house of our life and take us to distant Kansas. Nothing could be further from the truth. To feel relieved, the emotion must be seen and acknowledged.

You said earlier that we have the right to control our attitude. And here, in a conversation about emotions, you argue that they need to be given free rein and express them. Some kind of inconsistency turns out. How do you proceed?

Control must be taken over thoughts, but not over feelings.

Feelings, or emotions, are physically felt states that continue to play out throughout human life. No matter what a person does, no matter how he tries to close his emotions in the attic and pretend they don't exist, emotions will continue to visit him.

Since our understanding of the essence of emotion is perverted, we continue to feel that emotions are our enemies. That we need to try to manipulate and control them so that, God forbid, they do not gain the upper hand over our productive, efficient, purposeful pursuit. The truth is, emotions are the most reliable feedback a person has.

Imagine that you are thrown into the ocean on a tiny boat, and you have no idea where to sail next. At the very least, it would be nice to have a navigation system, right? Our emotions are an ideal navigation system, which we are unknowingly afraid to accept, misunderstanding we interpret it as garbage and recklessly throw it into the sea.

Thoughts, on the contrary, especially for the overwhelming majority of us, are negative - it's like a worn-out record. Imagine that you have a whole closet of excellent, favorite records that instill joy, peace in your soul - but you constantly listen to only one, because you have forgotten about the existence of a whole closet of musical treasures.

The ability to change the record is an inalienable right of every person. Whether to exercise this right is up to you.
