Psychologists are often faced with a request to return the old days, desire and energy, and most importantly, the desire to move on. You ask where desire, aspiration, ambition disappear. The answer is simple, unprocessed emotions.

Emotion (from Lat. "emotion" - excitement) - these are various mental phenomena that express in the form of direct experiences the significance of certain objects and situations for an individual and are an important factor in the regulation of his life. Emotions do not appear from nowhere, and do not disappear into nowhere. Let's say there was some negative event that was not properly lived. (Many are afraid to tell and share their experiences, fearing that this may be off-putting). But this negative event cannot just disappear and be forgotten and go nowhere. In the best case, the “anchored emotion” will remain, in the worst case, post-traumatic disorder may appear, which, according to symptoms, manifests itself in:

  • recurring disturbing memories of traumatic events;
  • revitalizing traumatic events as if it were happening again;
  • frustrating dreams, nightmares. Bad sleep.
  • Severe emotional stress or physical reaction to something that resembles a traumatic event.

So it is with positive emotions. If you have achieved something that you have been striving for for a long period, do not take your achievement for granted and be sure to experience the emotion, in this case, joy. Even a positive emotion that is not properly lived will bring emotional distress (stress).

Emotions need so-called “mental fitness” in order to develop emotional resilience in the future. For example, mental fitness is like invisible muscle training, which will further serve you in a stable and productive state.
