Why are we so self-centered? All areas in our life that we step into are saturated with this sense of ourselves: my job, my home, my family, my success, my problems. Literally everything is permeated with this self-concern. This is how more than one person lives - this is how our entire society exists, with very rare exceptions for those who are not afraid to feel and follow the call of the heart.
We try to attract attention in a million and one ingenious way. And in this we have reached certain heights, in this cunning, in this extortion, man on this planet definitely has no equal.
Why are we reaching for success? Why do we really need our achievements? This is how we expect to receive love and warmth from life. Changing for your achievements and your success. So we are looking for the most valuable thing that we need somewhere outside. But getting something we are looking for from the outside, we continue to remain insatiable - we do not have enough … Some time passes and we need it again, we need more, and more. And we start running again, on another impetuous turn. We wander the same paths as a squirrel runs in a wheel. Repeating the same thing.
If we take a closer look without succumbing to cheap ready-made verbal answers, we may also find that with our achievements, aspirations, goals, we are trying to prove something to someone invented in our head. There is a permanent dialogue within us - a "voice", and all our successes are almost always aimed at calming one of these disgruntled "voices". We try to saturate him, calm him down.
Remember the fairy tale that we all know from childhood, about a kind of evil insatiable dragon that steals the best people from the village and demands more and more victims? This dragon has one more remarkable property - having cut off its head, two new ones grow in its place! Here is the voice within us - and there is this dragon. And the best representatives of the village that he eats are our best qualities, our potential capabilities, which we betray, following the lead of this dragon.
Do you remember how this fairy tale ends, what is the way out of this dragon slavery?
It is necessary to form, nurture in yourself valiant fellow - a conscious center within oneself, capable of resisting dragon hypnosis. A center that is able to live without turning to the "voice in the head", but also without struggling with it. Able to be not a voice, but oneself.
Just do not forget about the remarkable property of the dragon - struggle, direct resistance, the severed head of it leads to the emergence of new two. It is important to know about this. Otherwise, the dragon will continue to fool you!
This tale, which metaphorically describes the inner transformation of a person, has been known since ancient times. This suggests that the internal difficulties of a person for centuries and millennia remain the same. And the path from them is always the same.
If you liked this metaphor, if you feel the meaning in it - take a closer look at the qualities of this kindest fellow from a fairy tale - these are the very qualities that this most conscious center within us must possess. They must be possessed by everyone within themselves, otherwise this kingdom will remain in the power of the dragon. But it can be the kingdom of a good fellow!
