Buzzword "Procrastination" gradually displaced the old woman "laziness", with which our mothers and grandmothers fought so diligently in us.
Yes, there is a "significant" difference - I just endlessly postpone what needs to be done, or I'm just not hardworking enough and prefer rest to work. The result is only, alas, one - I constantly do not fulfill the tasks that I set for myself, or I simply stop setting tasks for myself at all.
"Laziness was born forward" - my grandmother's favorite "incentive" phrase
One way or another, but I have achieved something in my life. And in general, one way or another, but this is the merit of my grandmother, who fought against laziness both in herself and in others.
Laziness it is fashionable to dignify now engine of progresslinking the achievements of a person with his ingenuity, which manifests itself due to the unwillingness to spend unnecessary efforts. And this is partly true. But if you have a goal, then the choice of means to achieve it is only yours! - And here, however, a wide field opens up for the manifestation of their ingenuity.
I see only one thing in it "BUT" - the same laziness stops us on the way to our goals, turning us into thoughtless slaves of the desire to have pleasure, instead of going forward, making certain efforts for this.
Evolution Is a very slow process. AND core of the "pleasure center" Is an older part of the brain than frontal cortex, which is the focus of our cognition. Accordingly, in the “struggle” between the desire to enjoy something we know to be delighted (for example, from watching a TV series or surfing on a social network) and the need to write an article or do other work, the more ancient and primitive desire for pleasure wins by far.
The only way to break this evolutionary pattern is to still make efforts to self-controlthat will help us move away from instant gratification in favor of a business that pays dividends in the longer term.
How can you awaken your self-control and not follow the “path of least resistance”?
- You need to start with a simple awareness of where you are and what you really need, comparing the consequences of the predictable behavior with the consequences of the desired behavior (“if I spend time watching the series, I will not have time to write an article, having lost my earnings”).
- Then you need to choose a specific goal and commit yourself to achieve it ("I want to get money for an article and therefore I have to write it")
- We build a "road map" for achieving the desired goal, breaking it down into intermediate goals and describing step-by-step instructions for achieving your goal (1) study the available literature on the topic, 2) view similar articles, 3) formulate abstracts, 4) write a "fish" article, 5) expand the volume of the article, 6) re-read the article the next day and make corrections)
- Mentally (or in writing) describe the possible behavior "for pleasure" and replace it with actions that will help to complete the "route map" ("pleasure": find a site with the series, lie on the sofa and turn it on, "route": start googling literature and articles on the topic, collect abstracts, open Word and start writing them down …)
- Encourage yourself for achieving intermediate goals - to develop for this a set of encouraging actions and phrases (for example, every half hour, allow yourself to listen to music and dance, say to yourself the phrase "I did it, I am on the right path, I was able to gain self-control", etc., etc.)
- Involve your environment for support (while writing an article, call a friend and tell about what you are doing and how important it is to you)
- Understand that in order to achieve a sustainable result in the development of self-control, you need a long-term strategy for maintaining the result (you must set goals and fulfill them with persistent regularity, regularly remembering that you are not a slave to your ancient limbic system, you are Homo sapiens, owning his will and mind)

The Magic Question For Overcoming Bulimia And Binge Eating
This "magic" question only works if you ask it before EVERY meal, as well as perform a "magic" action. Before each meal, you need to ask one single question - "would I eat this on a break?". And, if the answer is no, don't eat it.
Anxiety And Panic Attacks. The Importance Of Creativity In Overcoming Them
A panic attack is extremely difficult, if not impossible, simply to crush by willpower. You can't just say to yourself “don't be nervous” and thus extinguish everything. This can work if the frontal cortex has a calming touch, and you automatically believe that everything is not so scary and everything is surmountable.
How To Overcome Laziness. How To Get Rid Of Laziness Forever. Simple Actions
What are the reasons for laziness? How to deal with this pathological inaction? In fact, laziness can be divided into two problems - the problem with motivation and the problem with willpower. So what could be the main reasons for laziness in relation to motivation?
Teenage Love And Overcoming The Prohibition To Manifest
This is a story of how love initiates transformation and brings change to our lives. Usually at the beginning of a seminar on overcoming the prohibition to manifest, I ask people to draw this very prohibition. There are repetitive motives, for example, the image of a cell, or the motive of chaos, or a point within empty space, or rods that encompass something.
Procrastination And Personality (Scientific Evidence And Best Practices)
Procrastination and stress. Scientific evidence supports the expected conclusion: People are more likely to avoid tasks that cause disgust. That is, unpleasant tasks are often postponed. Scientists have also found that people under stress are more likely to procrastinate.
