The relevance of the topic of aggressiveness of adolescents, bullying (school bullying) has recently especially attracted public attention against the background of mass shootings of classmates and teachers. There are many factors that can influence such behavior, more precisely, the development of that internal conflict in the child's psyche, which ultimately results in the use of weapons. In the heat of discussions, many hotheads are concerned about where psychologists are looking, and how it is generally possible to skip motives, issue a weapon permit, etc. I will try to answer this question, at least where I am looking as a specialist. In view of the fact that such a question can only be asked by a person far from fundamental psychological science, then I will explain it as simply and intelligibly as possible.

Suppose you, dear reader, decided to kill someone, and the attraction to this is simply not surmountable and will sooner or later be realized. Of course, there is an internal conflict, a lot of psychological problems that have not been solved for years and there is a very high probability that along with your psychological distress, you are psychiatrically healthy, conscious and sane. The last thing you do is come to see a psychologist. Neither Andreas Breivik nor Andrei Chikatilo have ever lay on a psychoanalytic couch. Well, OK. You have a motive, an implementation plan, too, you don’t need a psychologist, or rather you need it, but it’s too late. This is the first part of the Marlezon ballet, and there is also the second.

In the second part, it is necessary to include imagination, for miracles begin. Suppose I, a clinical psychologist, suddenly invented something that cannot be by definition. A test that is 100 percent gives us the answer to whether a person pulls the trigger or not. The test is valid and reliable. And the stars came together so that you, a potential criminal and I, a professional psychologist, met in the office of a school psychologist or in the conditions of any medical institution - this is the second miracle that must happen. And you gave your written consent to have psychological testing with you, the third miracle. The test gave the result that we are expecting, neither will the shooting start tomorrow. What's next? As the cat said in the novel "The Master and Margarita": "Well, I gave a telegram, then what?" Now I answer to all moaning about where psychologists look - nothing. There is no crime, there are no victims, there is only a paper A4, which you can roll into an airplane and let it go downwind. No law of any state will allow you to take action against a person who has not done anything yet. And in case of compulsory hospitalization, I will be there before the potential murderer for illegal placement and detention in a psychiatric hospital. And I will repeat myself for those in the tank, such a piece of paper cannot exist in principle. You can conclude heightened emotionality, schizoidness and even a psychiatric diagnosis, which will allow you to refuse to buy a weapon, but this will not solve the problem at all. Psychologists in schools sit in order to provide assistance to those who ask for it, psychological assistance should be accepted by the counselor, and this is not always the case. In order for psychological help to be accepted, not belated and effective, parents should at the moment, or better just before the adolescent crisis, bring and introduce their child to a psychologist whom they trust, and the psychologist must explain what confidentiality is and what it can be useful. In this case, the child will know where he can get support and the likelihood that he will solve problems as they come, and not when it is too late to drink Borjomi, increases many times over. Full-fledged families where the child feels caring, love and acceptance serve as the best prevention of impulsive behavior. And to complain about the fact that the school psychologist looked at something there or more often overlooked, and, having seen a Kalashnikov assault rifle in the drawing of a nonexistent animal, did not call the riot police in time, at least counterproductive.
