We understand it scientifically: testing is a method of psychodiagnostics that uses standardized questions and tasks - tests that have a certain scale of values. Used for standardized measurement of individual differences. Allows with a certain probability to determine the actual level of development of an individual of the necessary skills, knowledge, personal characteristics, etc. Testing assumes that the subject performs a certain activity: it can be problem solving, drawing, storytelling, etc. - depending on the method used; a certain test takes place, based on the results of which the psychologist draws conclusions about the presence, characteristics and level of development of certain properties.

Individual tests are standard sets of tasks and material with which the subject works; the procedure for presenting assignments is also standard, although in some cases certain degrees of freedom are provided for the psychologist - the right to ask an additional question, build a conversation in connection with the material, etc. The procedure for evaluating the results is also standard. This standardization makes it possible to compare the results of different subjects.

There are three main areas of application for testing:

1) education - due to the increase in the duration of study and the complication of curricula;

2) professional training and professional selection - due to the increase in the growth rate and the complication of production;

3) psychological counseling - in connection with the acceleration of sociodynamic processes.

The testing process can be divided into three stages:

1) the choice of test is determined by the purpose of testing and the degree of validity and reliability of the test;

2) its conduct - is determined by the instructions for the test;

3) interpretation of the results - determined by a system of theoretical assumptions regarding the subject of testing. At all three stages, the participation of a qualified psychologist is required !!!.

In general, as entertainment, of course, it is a fun thing, but the reliability of the results is questionable. You are now mentally asking me a question that you are not stupid people and you do not take such tests seriously, but maybe you can find professional ones on the Internet and conduct them yourself, what is difficult there! I answer, I have no doubt about the development of your intellect, and, of course, you can find a lot of information on psychology on the Internet, but as one of my friends likes to give an example, buying a "DSLR" - you will not become a photographer, and the presence of a scalpel - a surgeon Won't make you! I directly applaud this expression standing up, so people then learn these professions in order to know what to do with the tools, and the test is also a psychologist's tool. After all, you need to know how to use the test correctly, what conditions are necessary for its application, in the end, which test should be carried out in your specific case, and, most importantly, the test is just an additional source of information for the psychologist, and not the only one, because the work of a psychologist begins from the moment of your meeting or your call, and testing, rather, as a confirmation or clarification of already existing thoughts in him.

So, comrades, let us not lynch psychologists for testing and completely trust them, they are professionals and know how to carry out "tests" for sure!

I will add that now I do not use testing in my work, but this is determined by the modality in which I work, but I respect other diagnostic methods, including "tests";-)
