The client comes to therapy, driven by a subtle feeling that the knowledge he has about himself is incomplete. Actually, any symptom is a hint of this thick circumstance that acts in the shadows, but wants to come out into the light. The client thinks the therapist has this missing knowledge. On the one hand, this is so. On the other hand, this knowledge does not exist in a ready-made form. This knowledge is constructed when the client is able to give up what already exists. The client is fascinated by the possibility, with the help of this knowledge, to facilitate the daily exploit of existence. And from that moment on, problems arise

And what already exists? There is a ready-made dream in which he wakes up whenever he opens his eyes. Buddhists call this "the illusion of I" - in fact, it is not I who think thoughts, but at some point the thought stream becomes mine. I arises within thoughts, and is not their source. In psychoanalysis, a similar story is described by the idea of the unconscious - everything that is happening now has such deep roots that I cannot be sure of the authorship of any psychic act. I can be a witness, a participant, but not an author. For the author, as the postmodernists assure, died long ago.

Here is the main revolutionary step that psychotherapeutic discourse is taking - it proposes to abandon the pleasure associated with action and focus on the pleasure in knowledge. Finding oneself in action means being fully identified with the personal way of producing pleasure and thus channeling the anxiety of illusion. That is, the more densely the content of everyday life will be pulled over the observer, the better. No existential drafts and complete confidence in the future.

In the usual mode of personal suffering, the subject is captured by an individual meaning and in this capture acquires stability and fullness. However, sometimes this strategy fails. As if the horse, carrying the rider at full speed, stumbles and he, a second before falling to the ground, manages to notice that all this time he was sitting on a plastic bucket that was planted on the rusty rim of the carousel. This sensation lasts only a moment, you want to forget it like a bad dream and regain the feeling of lightness and flight. And most often it succeeds. The goal of psychotherapy is to prevent this from happening.

It is important to grow in oneself such a psychic instance that will be able not only to watch a movie on the screen, but also to simultaneously see in the dark a green inscription with the word "Exit". This means the beginning of a movement towards something that does not exist - not filling the lack, but being present in it. This is incredibly difficult, because in this position there is an imaginary register - which helpfully answers the question "who am I?" by means of dotted identification forms - stops working. Further, one will have to identify not with the meaning, but with the process of discarding the meanings in order to move further - from the content to the primary soup from which it arises. To the very point of predisposition to which the observer is assigned.

Why is this knowledge, about which I spoke above, is associated with pleasure? Because it threatens the habitual existence - once having touched it, it is no longer possible to be fascinated by what is happening to the end, as before. That is, it is possible to truly escape from the inner Shawshank, to which the sarcasm of existence condemns us, only in one direction.
